Très bon séjour passé dans un cadre idyllique. L’hôtel est à la fois calme et bien agencé, face à la mer, les pieds dans le sable. Le bar et le restaurant sont parfaits.

The bar staff are amazing - really hospital and friendly! Stunning location and the team are able to organise any taxis/trips etc really easily! The only downside was that we didn't have AC in the room and it was boiling at night!

Fun and casual hotel
The location of the hotel is great, it's close to kite-surf shops, in front of a beautiful beach and near very cool bars and restaurants. The rooms are ok, nothing fabulous but functional and charming. Unfortunately I was given a noisy room that was close to the staff room where they go in and out all day to do washing and storage so it wasn't very private. Also the windows cannot be closed so you can hear everything that's going on outside. I did request a change of room but this wasn't possible as all the other rooms were fully booked. They have a nice bar and they make good cocktails. The staff are super friendly and are always up for a chat. The wifi doesn't work in the room, only in common areas.

Struttura bellissima e direttamente sulla spiaggia di jambiani, personale gentile e sempre disponibile, il proprietario Thomas e il suo staff ti fanno sentire a casa e sono sempre pronti a soddisfare ogni richiesta,cibo ottimo e oltre al menu ci sono sempre piatti nuovi che variano di giorno in giorno...non ho trovato nulla che non mi piacesse. Se dovessi tornare a Zanzibar tornerei sicuramente al blue ...consigliatissimo

Il blue Reef è speciale perché molto semplice ma allo stesso tempo trovi tutto ciò che ti serve, personale sorridente e cordiale, un grazie speciale a Wilimina, se avessi un attività mia sarei ben felice di avere una collaboratrice come lei. Cucina ottima con gusti sempre differenti, ampia scelta e porzioni abbondanti. Il mio unico consiglio è rivolto alle camere poste sui lati, se ci fosse una finestra aperta sul bagno sarebbe tutto perfetto per vivere una vacanza da sogno lontano dalla tecnologia e dell’occidentalità! Sehr familiäre und lockere Atmosphäre! Alle Wünsche werden sofort (wenn möglich) und professionell erledigt. Das Hotel liegt direkt am Meer. Somit hat man einen wunderbaren Blick auf den Strand und das offene Meer. Das Essen im Restaurant war gut und die Bar unten am Strand war immer ein wunderbarer Abschluss des Tages. Das Team war aufmerksam und einen besonderen Fank an Wilhelmina und Natty. Es war dort ein rundum erholsamer Urlaub, auch wenn die Zimmer sehr einfach gehalten sind. Wer ist aber bei bei so einer traumhaften Lage im Zimmer, außer zum schlafen .

Io e la mia ragazza abbiamo passato 15 meravigliosi giorni in questo hotel ed è stata un'esperienza incredibile. La posizione è perfetta: davanti alla bianchissima spiaggia di Jambiani che offre un mare paradisiaco!!! Lo staff è semplicemente UNICO, vogliamo ringraziare i proprietari per la disponibilità mostrataci in qualsiasi occasione, tutti i ragazzi dello staff: dal cuoco alle ragazze delle pulizie (che si sono sempre dimostrati sorridenti) e soprattutto i baristi e i camerieri, sempre molto simpatici e disponibili! Un ringraziamento speciale va alla manager Wilimina (diventata anche una nostra cara amica) che, con la sua allegria e disponibilità ha reso il nostro soggiorno speciale! Il ristorante dell'hotel è senza dubbio il MIGLIORE, abbiamo mangiato tutti i giorni a pranzo e a cena, incomparabili! Ci siamo sentiti a casa nostra durante questo periodo e sicuramente ritorneremo. English Couple Retreat After Tanzania Safari
What a lovely little place! We stayed in the Bungalows which was lovely, the restaurant area isnt as lively as the Lodges (200m away) but that was fine by us! The pizza and cocktails offered at the Bungalow restaurant were delicious - far too many were eaten!! And the food at the Lodge restaurant was always lovely too. Comfy sunloungers and you're right on the beach which is perfect. You get used to the tides after a few days and its lovely to walk out on low tide too - we spotted a starfish and plenty of hermit crabs. The staff are so welcoming and helpful, you guys really made the stay so thank you! We didnt do as many trips as we'd hoped as we just got too relaxed to want to move!! But there's plenty of activity options on offer. We didnt have aircon but the fan was more than sufficient - even needing to turn it off a few nights as we got too cold! Rooms are nice and airy with the windows. If you're after a low key, relaxing, beach stay and don't want to spend a fortune then Blue Reef is ideal!

GOOD VIBES
Nous avons passé un excellent séjour au Bleu Reef. Nous avons préféré les bungalows du Bleu Reef 2, plus intimes et calmes que les chambres du Bleu Reef 1. Les deux sont super bien situés au bord de plage à Jambiani. L'accueil est sympa, le service impeccable pour un guesthouse *. On s'y sent tout de suite bien. Si vous cherchez une petite structure (7 chambres) , cool, sympa sans chichi, sur la plage, avec un bon restau qualité/prix, petit bar sur la plage, petite musique lounge pendant que vous regardez la mer turquoise, le sable fin, que vous profitez du soleil ... n'hésitez pas. Vous aurez compris, nous avons adoré notre séjour. * Cela reste un guesthouse, si vous souhaitez une piscine, de l'airco, une tv, ...optez pour un hôtel

Wonderful holiday at the Blue Reef
We stayed for 8 nights and felt great. Excellent service, good food and lovely cocktails. We stayed in the lodge, where the room is not like in a hotel, but is so comfortable with a king size bed, impeccable cleaned every day. We loved the premises, very offering for relaxing with the ocean view... Thank you and hope to come back next year :)

Amazing people and place
We were fetched at the airport and brought to the lodge where we were welcomed by Nicky, Tom and a few members of staff. We were showed to our room and when we settled in, received a welcome drink, prepared by Nutty and served with a friendly smile. We automatically felt welcome and at home. The next day we met Nathan (Simba) who was very welcoming and had a big smile on his face. Over the course of our stay we got to know EVERYONE more, and the more we got to know them, the more they felt like family. We weren't treated like strangers, we were treated like friends and towards the end, after we got to know them properly - like family. Nutty, Antony, Habibi, Wilimina, Bonny, Hashim and ALL the other members of staff were absolutely AMAZING to us and EVERYONE is always smiling. The food is absolutely amazing and the lodge caters for your needs, whatever that may be. The placement of the lodge is absolutely perfect all around, and I must say, seeing the ocean view and feeling the breeze constantly, is absolute bliss. Not a second goes by that your needs are not accommodated, you are never left feeling unwelcome, by anyone, at any moment in time. The parties were amazing too :) Simba and his girlfriend Sue, were amazing to us, we spent quite a bit of time with them and they showed us new places too, leaving us with memories that we not only made on our own, but memories made with new friends too.THANK YOU TO EVERYONE AT BLUE REEF and we will be back soon! Séjour de 5 nuits au Blue Reef dans le quel nous avons été accueillis très chaleureusement par le patron Franco-Hollandais très sympathique entouré d'une équipe de locaux très attentionnés. Un merci tout particulier à Guiboni avec lequel nous avons passé d’agréables moments.

Great place in Jambiani
Blue Reef is actually two lodges in two spots on the beach in Jambiani with same owners. Both have full bar service. One spot has a specialty for Pizzas with a stone stove and the other with a full restaurant that makes great dishes. Staff is friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is relaxed. It's right on the beach so you walk out of your room bare foot... Room is basic but for the price it's great. You don't spend too much time there anyway :) All in all a great stay.

Kleine sehr gut gelegene Unterkunft
Die beiden Anlagen (Bungalows und Hotel) liegen direkt am Strand in toller Lage und Umgebung. Das Personal ist super und hilfsbereit bei Ausflügen. Sehr leckeres Essen im Hotel. Kein besonderer Luxus aber vollkommen ausreichend. Für uns eine perfekte Unterkunft im Paradies.

Excellent place right on the Beach.
Very nice place with good size bungalow room,very comfortable big double matras,balcony terras with beach & seaview. Perfect bar setup with ocean view,hammocs, hanging chairs,lounge setting and excellent Wifi on the whole compound.Good cocktails and happy hour times. Breakfast is good and enough to get your day started. We stayed here 13 nights and really found it a quite place to recharge the batteries and enjoyed the every bit of it. Higly recommended!!

Friendly guesthouse with excellent food.
We had a great stay at Blue Reef Sport and Fishing Lodge. Hotel owners are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is located right at the beach, you step out of your room and onto the sand! Really nice beach front with sun chairs and lots of spaces to sit and relax. We stayed for three nights for kiting and beach life. The hotel restaurant is really good, very high quality and changing menu every day, much more than we expected from a backpacker style hotel. Close to Uhuru kite center and numerous other kitesurfing and water sports facilities. Some things to be noted about the room however: There is no door between the bathroom and bedroom, so perhaps not for the shy. Water pressure in the shower is not the best and the water is a bit salty. This is really nothing to be surprised at taking price and location into account, but if fresh water is very important to you than a resort style hotel is a better bet on Zanzibar, where water resources can be scarce. The comfort of the room would have been improved by a chair or two, as there was nothing to sit on in the room apart from the bed. Living on the beach it would be great to not have to sit on the clean bed sheets when you are all sandy.

Amazing place in Jambiani
- the communication with the hotel owner was smooth - there were no unpleasant surprises waiting for us - everything in other reviews was 100% correct - we were picked up from the airport - the beach bungalow was ready and always clean - the staff was very nice and helpful - the breakfast served at the porch (nice view of the beach) - the beach was clean and accessible right from the bungalows (low tide - nice walks, high tide - water was 3m from the resort) - food and cocktails were very good in the blue reef restaurant
