Convenient to take train to Venice.
We went during the Carnivale, and they had a really neat event happening downtown on Saturday. People were dressed in period clothes and there was a street festival. It was great!
I back to Ferrara to hug friends of mine and to sleep in front of the Castle. I know the other amenities, 'cause I saw them during other trips!
While the historic sightseeing and pastry shops are excellent in town, my wife and I turned away from 7 restaurants (recommended by the inn keeper) that we tried for dinner, because we did not have reservation. We ended up going to bed without food!
This is a really great place to visit, the vibe is wonderful, the plaza, the castle, small streets, vendors, nice people, beautiful city....parking sucks...park in the BLUE SQUARES and get local insight on parking....BUT GO HERE...STAY HERE.....ciao
