Atheras Hotel Evdilos Review
Excellent spot! Right next to the port of evdilos (5 minute walk!), hosts were fantastic - breakfast was adequate and beds were comfortable! Would definitely stay again! Everyone in Ikaria is so kind and they have us soooo much information about the island! :)

Walk from the port
Perfect location, easy to walk from the port. The rooms have nice outdoor space. The ladies in the reception are extremely friendly and helpful!

Wonderful, relaxing stay in Evdilos
The hotel was beautiful, with bright and nicely decorated clean rooms, and helpful and very polite staff. We had a wonderful 6-night stay and are definitely coming back!

Friendly and comfortable home away from home
The staff were really nice, friendly and helpful at all times and made the stay feel more like you were at home. The hotel has all the amenities you could wish for including a pool.

A 'perfect', quiet but centrally located gem.
Hotel is immaculate. The attention to detail is excellent - special pull out rail for hanging wet clothes, fridge in the room, safe in the wardrobe, hairdryer. Wifi and even a desk top computer and printer for shared use. Everything is in good working order, nothing old or broken. It is exceptionally clean. The owner is present every morning, caring and friendly, wants the best for clients. All staff are friendly nothing too much trouble. The little pool is a delight and again spotless. There are plenty of areas to sit and relax in the hotel apart from your own balcony. The position is a central location in the town a stones throw from the delightful harbour and all the cafes, where you can watch this very Greek town go about life. Although central it is quiet. I paid 50euros for a taxi from the airport to the town (an hour's drive with spectacular views) and then stayed a week and did not rent a car. I spent my time walking, drawing, swimming and relaxing in the the cafes. There are beaches within walking distance. The whole area is beautiful. This is definitely for those wanting to go back to the Greece of 40 years ago - Greek food, Greek way of life - it is a town inhabited by the locals all year round, not Athenian owners who arrive for a summer season and disappear. It does not have package holiday tours so is unspoilt. What a gem - a little paradise! Can't wait to return. I am 62, female and travel alone.

Convenient hotel with nice swimming pool
We stayed here our first two nights on Ikaria. It was only two blocks from the airport bus stop, near the cafés, and just near the Aventura car and motorcycle rental shop. We especially enjoyed a swim in their lovely pool. The breakfast is optional and we decided to give it a miss.

a lovely village hotel
We very much enjoyed the Atheras Hotel in Evdilos, Ikaria. It was exactly what we had hoped for...located in the middle of this little village steps away from a fabulous bakery, grocer with beautiful fresh produce, cafes and restaurants, and the life of this delightful little port. We really felt a part of the life of the island here....which isnt always the case when staying in a hotel. The rooms were simple but pleasantly decorated and spotless with balconies that were great to sit on for breakfast and lunch; beds comfortable; the staff were helpful, the swimming pool refreshing. Our only complaint was that the breakfasts were not good. Their were no hot selections...only hard boiled eggs, bread which didnt look that fresh, and a couple of not so appealing cold cuts. For 7 euros, definitely not worth it. We ended up buying fresh breads from the bakery and cheese and fruit from the grocer, which was fine and much less costly. We enjoyed having breakfast out on our balcony. However, for such a sweet hotel the breakfasts could definitely be improved. That said, we did fully enjoy our stay at the Atheras and would easily recommend it to other travellers wanting to experience village life in Ikaria.

Excellent hotel with comfortable beds
This is a great value for money hotel, the stuff is very pleasant, the place is very quiet yet centrally located in the port town of Evdilos with several, restaurants and supermarkets within 1 minute walk (you will need to rend a car if you intend to explore Ikaria of course). The safe and AC in the room are top notch, the cupboard space is very useful. If you want a big breakfast, beware that the breakfast for an extra 7 euros per person is relatively basic but you can walk less than you would walk a minute to the last restaurant to the right of the port to have breakfast. The one thing to put in mind is that the shower area in the bathroom is quite small so if you are relatively big this could be an issue. Try to get a room on the bottom floor which is right on the street but one high floor down from the lobby and has a beautiful peaceful and airy balcony. Also worth noting that there is a very pleasant pool and sauna, if you are looking for a studio with a kitchenette, I believe the owner also owns the Kerame studio as well.

Greek island stopover
Nicely furnished hotel near to the port. There are a couple of local beaches, not great and not for people with walking difficulties. Very hilly but the views are spectacular for anyone who likes walking. Just to make you aware that there are no footpaths on these windy roads! The port is undergoing renovations at present.Car/Moped hire recommended.
