In the evening when this photo was taken, the canyon takes on a soft, almost painterly light. If you can, make a visit right after sunrise and return for the sunset.

  • We visited this location but ideally needed to be there in the afternoon as the sun was on the "wrong" side of the arch. I used a wide lens to capture the arch and didn't attempt to correct the distortion as I felt it added to the picture (for me anyway). It took a long time to get this without hoardes of people in the shot.

My husband and I stayed here September 14th, and were very pleased with our stay! The room was clean and comfortable to stay in after a long day at Yellowstone. It was close to the shops, restaurants, and to the North entrance of Yellowstone. We would stay here again.

Excellent one night stay at the Antler Inn. The room was large & clean, beds comfortable & the bathroom had nice white fluffy towels. Enjoyed a meal at the attached restaurant which although very busy we were seated quickly. The food was hot & tasty. Parking was easy & the area had dining options available.

Great hotel close to Yellowstone.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was large, clean, and comfortable. The Wifi was not the best, but we understand that it was not the hotel's fault; it was that way in the remote town of Gardiner. We really liked the hotel.
