Would highly recommend. Rustic room with extra sitting room, private balcony overlooking the river and palace of the Popes. Enjoyed walking around the old village, just down the hill from Maison Orisini. Host was wonderful providing maps and a tasty breakfast. We stayed 4 nights. No.5 Bus close by into main town of Avignon or 35mins walk.

My wife and I loved our stay here. The property and rooms are gorgeous, giving off such an endearing, rustic aesthetic that feels so authentically French. The views from the property over the Rhone towards the Palace des Papes are world class. Our room was spacious and our bed was very comfortable. Our host, Folco, was fantastic - extremely friendly, welcoming, and helpful, he really helped to make our stay all the better. This location also cant be beat if you're wanting to see the major historical sites, being only a 15 minute walk to Fort Saint Andre, or a brief 5 minute drive to the free park and ride lot that is then a 15 minute walk to the Palace des Papes (or you could take the shuttle, which will save you a walk across the bridge). You're also only a ~5 minute walk to some fantastic restaurants in the Villeneuve area.n

This property is absolutely beautiful, peaceful, historic. It far exceeded our expectations. Folco , the manager, was wonderful and very kind. The breakfast was delicious. We spent 2 weeks in France and this is the stay that we will remember. This was the very best experience we have ever had with lodging in and out of the US. The location is great . It is a 15 minute walk to town and great restaurants. Walking along the river and the canal was so good for the soul. My only regret is that we didn't stay longer. Thank you Folco

We stayed in the 2 bedroom cottage . We didn’t have a view from our cottage of the Rhone and Avignon but the shared patio did and it was lovely . The location of this property was excellent , we stayed 3 nights and it was a short safe walk to the village center and there were tons of nice restaurants . If we walked the opposite way , again short and safe walk , there was a bus to Antibes (1.4 euro and 12 minutes ) The included breakfast was continental but big selection , great coffee and fresh squeezed orange juice . My only suggestion for property owner ( great guy ) is to get some better pillows . I would stay again here .

Very quaint and beautiful location.
The suite was beautiful, the views were spectacular of Avignon which we enjoyed breakfast to. The service was great and the host was super lovely and is on site 24/7 to assist with anything you need. We would definitely stay again. Perfect for anyone’s stay.

Romantic Chateau style hotel with the most beautiful view overlooking Avignon from a cliff across the river! The room was large, clean, comfortable and rustic. Walking distance to restaurants and stores. Just the kind of unique property I was looking for.

Our hotel suite was simply fantastic! Our host was so accommodating, friendly & very helpful! The pool was private, surrounded by beautiful flowers and so clean-true gem! I would strongly recommend this, want to go back and so much to appreciate with this property that words don't convey the impressiveness of Maison Orsini!

Our stay in Maison Orsini was wonderful. The room was clean and comfortable. If you want to experience the quintessential European country home with a courtyard and beautiful gardens, this will fit the bill. The view of Avignon over the Rhone is spectacular, especially at night. The private pool was fun for a dip, although we did get eaten by mosquitos as soon as we came out. It's about a 30 minute walk to Avignon, but there are several restaurants that are just a 10 minute walk away in the town of Villeneuve-les-Avignon itself, which is an adorable town. The owner was friendly and accommodating and has some yard games set up in the courtyard for guests to play which is a fun option. Breakfast is included and it was wonderful. I'd recommend staying here for a peaceful and quiet stay. I will say that we were the only guests at the time (July) so if I were a solo traveler, I would be more comfortable in a less isolated location.

Historic and charming place to stay in Avignon
This historic property with a view cannot be beat. Folco was a gracious host, helping to arrange travel to and from the property, getting us checked in, providing recommendations on places to eat and visit. In addition he provided us with a little bit of a history lesson on the property and town. On the last morning we had an early train to Marseille and he made sure we had breakfast, arranged a taxi, and helped us with our luggage. We enjoyed this property very much to the point we keep talking about it and looking forward to returning. Highly recommend.

We loved being able to experience France at Maison-Orsini. Our host, Folco, was gracious, helpful, and friendly. Our room was comfortable and we slept well in the peace and quiet. This is a place to relax with a book outside on the terrace; or enjoy a glass of wine and watch the moon rise over the city of Avignon.

Maison Orsini is a cottage on a property with a total of 7 units. The owner's name is Folco, and he was very nice. The cottage is lovely, with a nice kitchen/dining room and living room downstairs and two bedrooms and bathroom upstairs. Cozy, and fits in with the surrounding village. A truly relaxing place. The included breakfast was also nice, quite simply French breakfast of bread, yogurt, and fruit, but all of it outstanding. We enjoyed our stay here. We also ate dinner at the attached restaurant, and it was good.

Fun to stay in a cottage built in the 1340s right next to Avignon. Folco was very helpful. But the best part was eating at their on-site restaurant. Absolutely fabulous meal!

We spent an amazing 3 days at Maison Orsini. This centuries old property is very well maintained. It offers all the conveniences you would expect from a great hotel combined with historic charm. The rooms are rustic and full of French Provencal character. The hotel is located in a very quiet hilltop neighborhood, five minutes walk from the town center. Breakfast on the terrace overlooking Rhone with spectacular views of the Pope's Palace and Avignon is unforgettable. The restaurant Orsini deserves a separate review. It is the best in Villeneuve-les-Avignon, serving French food with a modern twist.

Our stay was magical. Folco is a wonderful host, very attentive to our needs, and kindly accommodated our check-in and check-out times. The property location is great, away from the most touristy area but within walking distance to the old town and surrounding historical sights. The view from the patio is unbelievable. We had picnics in the yard and made wonderful friends with other guests as well.

Amazing old Castle, family owned for multiple generations. on site owner is very attentive. this place has a patio with an amazing view of the valley, the river and the Pope's palace in Avignon. What a fantastic place to stay, the views were spectacular, rooms quaint and staff very polite (Covid aware and went the extra mile). It was lovely being so close to Avignon (accessible by bus or foot) but you felt out of the city. The owner even parked the car in the private spot for us.Breakfast on the terrace was adorable. Perfect travel for couples.

We had an amazing time! The setting, views, accommodations and staff were first class. We enjoyed a two story stone cottage with kitchen, at a very reasonable rate. Breakfast (included) was awesome, and dinner delicious. It was a very short walk to town, where we enjoyed local shops and fine dining.

This place is quite unique. It’s in a 14th century building that was once the home of Cardinal Orsini, hence its name. Our beautiful suite has a living room and small kitchen. But best of all is the killer view of Avignon and the Rhône River from the private terrace. Folco, our host, couldn’t be more helpful or thoughtful. He provides a marvelous breakfast including a fine assortment of cheese, which he chooses, and fresh-squeezed fruit juice. The dinners there are excellent. We stayed in several lovely places in France, but Maison Orsini is my favorite

A romantic place to stay. Incredible view of Avignon on the other side of the Rhône. The owner/host is very warm, helpful and friendly, and the room was very comfortable. It's an easy walk into the little town of Villeneuve-les-Avignon for cafes, and a quick bus ride into the larger city of Avignon for the Pope's Palace, more restaurants, etc.

We stayed in the self contained cottage cottage. Folco was an exceptional host. He welcomed the three of us, assisted with directions, taxis and a late check out. The breakfast was delicious and the best yoghurt we have tasted. The restaurant was fully booked during our stay as very popular. Cafes snd shops are in walking distance from the property. We would highly recommend this property.

It was fantastic experience! We'd go back and stay there for a number of days again! This place is a true gem! Our host Folco was beyond welcoming and accommodating. We stayed at Superior Suite, 2 Bedrooms, Terrace, City View and it was incredible! It's a medieval cottage on the cliff with a breathtaking view of the river and Palais des Papes. Although the whole place looked very authentic, the amenities completely modern and up to date, and makes you feel very comfortable - AC, great bathroom and shower. This specific suite was very spacious, sparkling clean and with everything you may need during your stay. There is also a very nice pool in a "secret garden". Awesome french breakfast (croissants, different kind of cheese and meat, yogurt with variety of jams, fruit... Folco personally makes fresh-squeezed orange juice for you if you like 😉). We walked down to the village and we could not get enough of that "going back in time" atmosphere. There are plenty of little shops and high-quality French restaurants.

Charming and quiet property overlooking a beautiful view of Avignon! Folco is very helpful with directions and suggestions. Many restaurants are down the hill and a 10 minute walk away. The bus stops on the other side of the hill and takes you to Avignon. Parking near there is a nightmare so take the bus or walk. It's only a 30 min walk. Breakfast is simple but perfect. Our quadruple room had 3 double beds! Plenty of room for our family. My only complaint is that we only stayed one night! We loved Maison Orsini and highly recommend it!

Super charming and great location. Host was very nice. The patio and view were exquisite and the pool was lovely. The beds were not the most comfortable and the chairs and table on the deck need refreshing. I recommend it but a bit steep on price.

Word: paradise! It’s great because it’s not in the center of Avignon, but it’s a five minute bus ride away, and a two minute walk to the bus stop. It is one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever stayed at, the pool is absolutely amazing, it is all full of gardens and the view of the Rhône River is just spectacular. I could honestly say I have stayed a month and ever left the premises.
