Donghae, Gangwon hotel rooms at the Independent

"Quite clean but very difficult in the morning when trying to check out. Otherwise a clean place. Travels with wife and kids. "

"Pretty central location with the lake on one side and the beach on the other. Can walk to either side and explore. The hotel does have some wear & tear in the rooms but honestly, probably one of the better locations in Gangneung. The views from the top are amazing in the evening. You do need a car if you want to visit other spots like Cafe Alley (blocks with cafes across from the beach). Both the lakeside & the beachside have walking paths - highly recommend walking along the lake as well. Would...

"This hotel belied its three star rating on Google maps. It was well staffed with a manned front desk. The room was spacious with a well appointed bathroom. The breakfast buffet was varied and extensive. Would not hesitate to stay there again."

"The hotel is part of the Ramada chain and the name on the building itself is Ramada and not Jeongseon Intoraon Hotel. The GPS system in the car will take you there no issue but save the confusion when you are trying to physically see it. "

"동해 여행으로 호텔 알아보다가 평점이좋아서 현진관광호텔로 예약했는데 훌륭한 선택이었습니다! 방도 넓은 구조로 되어있고, 이불도 가볍고 좋고, 깨끗했어요. 신발장과 침실 분리된 문이 있어서 문닫으면 외부 소리도 잘 안들려서 좋았구요. 무엇보다 조식이 매우 훌륭했습니다. 너무 잘 먹어서 체중이 늘었지만 가족과 행복한 여행이었습니다. 호텔근처에는 롯데시네마도 가깝고, 콜택시도 가능해서 매우 편리했습니다. 강추!"

"Good location to coffee shops and beach. Two restaurants and a cafe on site. Rooms are modern. Bathroom good size. Car parking under hotel was easy to park and get to rooms. I was at the hotel during a typhoon and the room was secure and safe. My car was safe underground. American style food restaurant open late and has reasonable priced meals until 1130pm. "

"I booked an ocean view room - I was not disappointed. I had a great view of the beach and ocean. The sounds of the waves crashing was very therapeutic. The room was clean and comfortable. There are plenty of things within walking distance. I will stay here again."
