The hotel is a perfect stay. Train station right outside the entrance. Staff are warm and friendly. Rooms are spacious. I would definitely recommend Grand Nikko

My stay at the Grand Nikko this time was not good. The first time I stayed there it was great, but as soon as I got into the room this time a horrible smell greeted me. It was late when I got in and the 15 hour time difference was a lot so I went to bed. The next morning I called down to the front desk and they had housekeeping come and they brought in I think an ionizer which worked until it was turned off at night and then the smell came back. Then to my horror I woke up the next day covered in bites all over my legs. The manager of housekeeping came to the room and said they would change out the bedding which they did. A few days later more bites and a different manager came to my room and got me some hydrocortisone cream for the bites and said they would change everything in the room. The next day I checked out and would never stay there again. They should of changed my room immediately but they obviously don’t care about their clientele or the cleanliness of their hotel. Definitely disappointed in the grand nikko

Do NOT stay with children at this hotel, they are banned from lounges, bars, leisure and swimming pool. They don’t tell you this when booking, they are rude staff, taking soft drinks off the kids and ignore you!

We didn’t like the lack of cafes or room service available for early coffee and a snack and having to pay for a 2 full breakfasts twice when we only wanted coffee and a croissant . The staff don’t handle things going wrong very well either. Apart from that it is a very good hotel with excellent accommodation and service .
