“We typically choose chain hotels because we value dependable customer service, consistent quality, and a welcoming environment. We decided to try a smaller independent property, assuming the service would feel more personal and attentive. Unfortunately, that was not our experience.We arrived early &understood that our room might not be ready. We did not make an issue of it and went out to explore while we waited. Once we checked in, we were surprised by how small and poorly equipped the room...

Coffee, Tea, Distilled Water and fresh baked treats are available all day, and wine and cheese is served at tea time. Breakfast is absolutely amazing! There is a different entree each morning served with fruit, fresh baked goods, juice, coffee and the host will help you wrap some up to take on your adventures later in the day! Looking forward to staying again!”

“Beautiful inn, comfortable and more. Hosts are so welcoming and helpful, the room was lovely. Muffins, cakes, cookies, coffee available during 'snack-needed' times of day and included breakfast was fabulous. Walkable to Bar Harbor stores and restaurants. Will be coming back.”

“It was very cozy and cute! We appreciated that there was a fridge/freezer and microwave available. We couldn’t figure out how to use the coffee machine in the room, but that’s okay! We had amazing breakfast every morning at the local restaurant that’s included. Thank you for such a great stay!”

“We loved the Chiltern Inn and all the history behind it. Beautiful place to stay, breakfast was delicious, able to walk to town, close to Arcadia and Cadillac Mountain road. Dan was very knowable. Great place to stay.”

“The location was great! It's close to a lot of restaurants and gift shops. The unit was on the second floor, so it was a little bit challenging for me because I have bad knees, but we're very satisfied with the place. It's not too far from Acadia National Park. I would recommended it. The communication with host was fast.”

“Wow! This was the most beautiful place. The property is tucked up on a beautiful lot of trees and ferns. Our room was just gorgeous with beautiful furniture, wallpaper and a fireplace. I couldn’t believe we were staying in such a storybook place. I found Mike at the checkin super kind and helpful. He also gave great recommendations for hiking based on my husband’s mobility needs. His advice was perfect—made our trip! You can literally enter Acadia from the trails directly behind the hotel....
