"My wife and I stayed three nights at the Whakaipo Lodge as part of a 12 day NZ vacation. We have traveled to many countries and stayed and some wonderful venues. My wife and I agree that Whakapio Lodge ranks as our favorite. Angie and Garth are amazing hosts. The room we had was spacious, private, modern, comfortable and spotlessly clean. "As it turned out we were the only guests in the hotel during our stay so there was only the chef preparing our meals (included) and no other service was available. There was an intial hiccup with our TV and lack of hot water so we had to change rooms but playing a round on the Kinloch Golf course is well worth the trouble."

"Nina and Peter's little Chalet was delightful. Bella and Rufus were the perfect cuddle buddies in the morning while Nina prepared breakfast. Would highly recommend a stay here. Easy access to Taupo area but out of the way and quiet!"
