Aarhus C

Aarhus C blends medieval charm with cutting-edge Danish design across its cobblestone streets and harbor views. The 12th-century cathedral stands tall while ARoS Art Museum's rainbow panorama crowns the cultural landscape. Pedestrian-only Latin Quarter invites leisurely exploration through narrow alleys filled with cafés and boutiques. Travelers enjoy easy navigation via the central train station and extensive bus network. The Old Town's half-timbered houses preserve living history alongside modern attractions like Dokk1 library. Stroll along the waterfront or dive into Nordic cuisine at canal-side restaurants where traditional smørrebrød meets contemporary flavors.

Midtbyen

The Latin Quarter in Midtbyen captures the essence of old Aarhus with its colorful medieval streets and half-timbered buildings. Cobblestone lanes wind past artisan shops and cozy cafés where locals linger over Danish pastries. This historic heart beats with cultural energy just steps from ARoS Art Museum's rainbow panorama. Explore Den Gamle By's open-air museum to step back in time through reconstructed Danish buildings. The pedestrian-only Strøget shopping zone buzzes with activity while nearby Aarhus Cathedral stands tall with centuries of history. Cultural attractions and authentic dining options make this neighborhood Denmark's most walkable historic gem.

Indre by

Aarhus's Indre by district charms with cobblestone streets and 16th-century buildings. ARoS Art Museum's rainbow-crowned rooftop stands near the gleaming Dokk1 library along the harbor. Medieval timber houses create a visual timeline where historic spires pierce the contemporary skyline. Riverside cafés serve traditional smørrebrød alongside New Nordic cuisine. Boutique galleries and Danish design shops line the streets while church bells chime over café conversations. The central location makes exploring Aarhus Cathedral and City Hall easy, with most cultural attractions within walking distance.

Latin Quarter

Step into Aarhus's Latin Quarter, where cobblestone streets weave through Denmark's oldest neighborhood. Colorful 16th-century buildings house art galleries and independent boutiques. Medieval church spires rise above this pedestrian-friendly district where history comes alive at every turn. The quarter balances authentic Danish charm with creative energy. Cozy cafés in historic cellars serve traditional smørrebrød alongside modern Nordic cuisine. Browse local artisan workshops for handcrafted ceramics and Danish designs. Most attractions are within a 10-minute walk through this fairy-tale setting.

Viby

This residential suburb offers a genuine slice of Danish family life just outside Aarhus's bustling center. Viby's quiet tree-lined streets and red-tiled homes create a peaceful retreat after exploring the city. Three convenient train stations connect you to downtown in under 20 minutes. The area surrounds tranquil Brabrand Lake, perfect for morning walks among locals. Visit the striking architecture of Ravnsbjergkirken church or cycle through well-maintained neighborhoods. Hotel GUESTapart

Hotel GUESTapart

10/10 Excellent
"This was the best hotel I have ever been to, the breakfast was delicious, good range and vegan friendly (and gluten free options), everything labelled clearly. The hotel clearly values sustainability- food waste and general rubbish bins in the bedroom, plus recycling available outside the rooms. Comfy beds and sofa bed set up for us ahead of our arrival. Well equipped kitchen (fridge off on arrival, love the sustainability there!), and smart tv for chrome cast/airplay. Speaker in room. Good wifi. Lovely decor. Kind and helpful staff. Gym was small but well equipped and clean. Sauna was out of order but would be a lovely amenity in sure. Love it and will be back!!"

"We stayed in a room which was a lovely spot away from the main square. Square is lively (in a good natured way) so bear in mind if ypu like total peace and quiet. 5 min walk to city centre and 10 mins walk from train station. Worth pointing out that they close the gates around 8ish, so we arrived after that. There is an unmarked bell tucked away on the left hand side of the gate of the wall! Took a phone call to get in! 😆 Lovely breakfast. It's fixed in what they bring to you, but if you like a hearty continental breakfast, it is very good."

Scandic Aarhus Vest

Scandic Aarhus Vest

10/10 Excellent
"This hotel had everything we needed and wanted and especially as our first stay after a long and grueling travel day(s) where our flight was cancelled and we had to scramble to get to Denmark at all. To come to a hotel with friendly and helpful staff with all the amenities we needed was wonderful! Our family of 4 (two kids: ages 4 and 6) stayed in a room with one double bed and a set of murphy twin bunk beds (pulls out of wall). We all slept well! It was second floor (called first floor in Denmark) and we sleep hot but the window opened and had the feature where you can latch it open just a crack (safety with little kids is important) so the temperature was great! Bathroom had shampoo, conditioner, bodywash, soap so that was really nice. Everything was clean, the room and surroundings were quiet. Breakfast the next morning had many great options for both us and our kids. Parking was also simple/easy."
