When was the last time u guys hoovered communal??? Seriously... its my first time seeing a hotel in this condition.... i was shocked to say the least. Ive never seen a hotel that didnt clean its hallways and stairs, rubbish everywhere, random things left in corridors like someones walker, bags of rubbish, wrappers... bits of fabric, food... like wth 😅 definitly not cleaned for a long time. However.... the staff were friendly on the front desk. Be aware there is a charge for parking.

The only thing holiday inn was the sign at the door. This should be removed and more explanation that it is not holiday inn. The room was clean and the staff friendly. We had chicken tikka meal. 4 bits of chicken in a what tasted like a jar of tasteless sauce and tiny nan bread. It took 1 hour and a lot of microwave sounds. Didn’t have breakfast. Smell of weed in the corridor. Kettle in the room but no tea or coffee provided even from reception I could not recommend this hotel. I know it was a last minute budget hotel booking but expected better.

Pros - Room was specious and quiet. Bed was comfortable. Had all the things we needed. Good breakfast. Plenty of parking slots. Cons- Air conditioning not working but given the weather in Scotland, it was not a big problem. Bathroom smelled cigarette. Hotel name had not been changed.

As soon as i entered the car park (the downstairs one like an abandoned place) the receptionist was helpful and friendly. The room was not cleaned from previous use because there were food crumbs on the floor and the bed. There was no teabags nor coffee available. The tea cups were not washed. The kettle was rusted! It

Second stay

Second time staying here. Room was very spacious and so was bathroom. There was no chair in the room to sit at the table so i pulled the sofa forward and there was quite a bit of mess underneath it, so not the cleanest. The matress was bit more comfortable this time because they layed matress topper down, so it didn't feel springy this time. The hair dryer was broken and was giving off a burning smell. I left a piece of clothing behind but staff have not seen it, they said they'd let me know if it turns up. A few reminders. You have to pay for parking. There is no coffee or tea in the room although there is a kettle and cups.

Too hot

The entrance on lower ground was full of cigarette butts and smelt strongly of smoke. Check in was simple and fast, got into room as was hit by very hot, humid air, had fan on, window doesn’t open, no air-con, unbearably hot.

Be aware

Room was a decent size, clean and easily accessible from car park. Unfortunately you have to pay for parking. Matress wasnt that comfortable you could feel the springs. There was no kettle in room when i arrived so i had to ask the service desk for one. There's not much point in asking for the kettle because there is no tea, coffee or milk given. Just a kettle an 2 empty cups. The shower head holder was broken so you had to hold the shower head by hand. Disappointed, especially since it was an ex-holiday inn hotel.

The staff were amazing and helpful. The property was a good place to be in, especially for a family. The company is in the process of upgrading their new purchase, and are doing a fine job. I would suggest having small fridges and a microwave in the rooms, and real cups. Otherwise, we really enjoyed our stay. Many thanks to staff!

On arrival the Reception was nearly in darkness but was met with a smile .accommodation was clean and well laid out with towel and toiletries. Overall accommodation was good .sadly was a bit disappointed that there was NO BAR facilities , Breakfast was also disappointed food was cold as all lids where open leaving the breakfast to be cold and not edible, When entering the dining room there was none there, i had to go to the corner and shout for the chef who came out and we asked him for fresh food, the only thing he brought out was some fresh sausages and 3 fried eggs. So for a full English breakfast at £9.99 was absolutely disgusting, we refused to pay that price for a breakfast that was stone cold and hardly anything on offer, Totally unacceptable.

Parking Expensive - Hotel Good Value

The hotel was as expected for the money. Budget friendly, very clean, tidy and typical size, amenities, fresh towels, ensuite, etc. Room was good, although I couldn't get the air con to work. I did have a little USB travel fan - so no big deal. Very comfy room and the blackout curtains allowed me to sleep in till 9am despite sunrise about 4am! The vegetarian breakfast is a bit limited considering the cost is the same as the non-veg. Was close proximity to Aberdeen centre. £10 parking is expensive, when there's a park and ride you can use for free within 3-5 minutes walk. This probably explains why the hotel car park was almost empty. I think if it was £2-£3 per night, most customers would park here for the convenience. They have 100+ parking, so this surely would generate more revenue than an empty car park with only 5 cars on there, charged at £10?

Great parking

The hotel is nice, clean and lots of space. Unfortunately our mattress was paper thin, only one pillow each that was very flat. Our tv didnt work at all. We contacted reception who gave us extra pillows and made it so we could watch netflix on our own account. The hotel is dog friendly so it was lovely too see all the dogs. No vending machine or coffee machines etc. However there is a kettle and tea/coffee in the rooms. We were told there was a mcdonalds 5 mins away. Loads of parking too. Reception were friendly but you can only exit thru reception you have to enter from the lower floor. Im led to believe its new ownership so they will probably need a bit of time to get things fully up to spec. Overall an ok hotel for the price.

To be fair to the one member of staff I actually saw he was polite and helpful. I decided not to bother him about the room, as every time I saw him he seemed to be already dealing with a dissatisfied guest! The hotel is confusingly still branded prominently as a Holiday Inn Express, and fitted out much as one. It should be of a reasonable standard, but seems to be desperately short of staff. This clearly extends to housekeeping. While the room had clearly been done and the bed was well made there was a lack of attention to detail and the room was quite grotty. The most egregious things being that the toilet seat was not clean and that the cups provided had tea marks and a hair stuck to them! The 6am fire alarm, seemingly due to a defective call point was the icing on the cake…
