Room was not stocked with sugar, milk and hand towels. Corridors could use a good hoover. However the reception guy was very friendly and the hotel is nice and quiet.

Yes it is an older hotel and the rebrand is still in progress. The price reflects this, we booked 2 rooms for just over £40 each for a night in August. The rooms were quiet and the beds were clean and comfortable. TV channels were a bit hit and miss - one only had BBC and the other the only access was via the apps ( I-player, netflix etc). It looks like it is an area set for redevelopment, house building programme across the road.

Great price if you just need a room for the night. As a student at the nearby University its perfect for me and better than renting the student accommodation in the area. Clean room, own bathroom and tea making facilities. All I need for staying occasionally overnight. I can confirm as other reviews have mentioned, there is an odour of weed in the lift, but the room is fresh. Can't really complain for the price you pay.

Good for the price, with a few small quirks Stayed here for a couple of days while working and needed something cheap and decent so that’s exactly what I got. A few little things: paid parking felt unfair, shower pressure and heat weren’t amazing (but fine for the price). Also, elevator security seemed a bit loose since anyone could walk up, which might bother other solo travelers. On the plus side: staff were nice even though I reached check out much much later, lobby and furniture looked great, and the smart TV with YouTube SAVED my evenings after the rough days at work. Room was fine and comfy enough to sleep and shower. One heads up: it’s unclear if they have a restaurant in the premises, maybe staff could mention it just in case and the wifi connection is a little weak Overall, it’s a solid budget choice if you’re not picky

Booked a twin room ended up with a double bed and sofa bed. The latter not being very comfortable. There wasn't any bar or breakfast available. The lift and reception was very smelly. On the plus side the room was clean.as

Pros - Room was specious and quiet. Bed was comfortable. Had all the things we needed. Good breakfast. Plenty of parking slots. Cons- Air conditioning not working but given the weather in Scotland, it was not a big problem. Bathroom smelled cigarette. Hotel name had not been changed.

The staff were amazing and helpful. The property was a good place to be in, especially for a family. The company is in the process of upgrading their new purchase, and are doing a fine job. I would suggest having small fridges and a microwave in the rooms, and real cups. Otherwise, we really enjoyed our stay. Many thanks to staff!

Too hot

The entrance on lower ground was full of cigarette butts and smelt strongly of smoke. Check in was simple and fast, got into room as was hit by very hot, humid air, had fan on, window doesn’t open, no air-con, unbearably hot.
