Best terrible hotel
I have booked by hotels.com. When I check in, Friendship hotel tell me they already overbook so i can't use room. They insist they don't have no responsibility. and request me cancel the booking by myself. I can not attend the dinner meeting with VIP due to their impolite attitude and waste of time. please prepare for the worst. Friendship hotel really 4 star hotel!!

Very uncomfortable bed, they cheat for more money.
I paid for 1 adult n 1 kid. Getting there the receiption asks for 10 usdollar more saying I should pay more for my kid! I argued n showed that was paid for. Which I declined n was let in. The restaurant waiters when u pay cash please see the receipt, they said a more amount than what was on the receipt m when I tipped they asked shamelessly for the whole change. We stayed there for only 1 night, the bed had a very thin mattress that our bones were painfully. We had to check out the next day from Friendship Hotel and my intentions were to stay 1 week in Ethiopia.

We requested transportation a day before our flight but in morning day of my flight the guy at the reception basically told us no, he stated "Tinesh atkoyum ende" while we had 1 hour left for our flight time, what kind of service was that, I mean he made it sound like we were his personal house guest, as a result we had to take a taxi to the airport. Otherwise, the location was very good. Thank you in general.

Worst mattress ever I couldn’t sleep and no extra toilet paper I requested one after 1 minute they called me back to say we sent one after 5 minutes they called again to say you received it’s been so frustrating ignoring

Disappointment!
First and foremost, the lady that checked me in has a nasty attitude and was very rude. Secondly, the room was filthy and smelly. Please see the photos I've attached with this review. I had to go to the front desk and pleaded for a room change or return my money so that I can move out right away. They refused to return my money and instead offered me an alternative room. Again my room was supposed to have various conveniences, such as a cattle to make my tea; unfortunately, there was a cattle and a cup of tea on the table but it did not work. Despite my repeated requests, the receptionist kept conspicuously silent. What's more, their mattress was pretty hard and wire-filled. I couldn't even sleep, so I rang the front desk and informed them. Guess what? I had received no response. The front desk staff is the most ignorant I’ve ever encountered, and they made my stay a living hell. I remember, one time when I asked the receptionist to lend me a pen to fill out some forms, and she gave me a very bad glimpse and advised me to go out and get my own! Isn't this utterly ridiculous? However, I was fortunate enough to have a man seated next to her offer me his pen. To cut a long history short, I would only recommend this hotel as a last resort. I'm not sure how they even managed to get 7.4 rates.

I like the hotel and the staff. The breakfast is very good and the range of meals for the evening was great. I stayed in the studio and enjoyed my stay. The only thing I didn't like about the room is it was to dim. I prefer a lot of light in my room. The internet was good but would fall out from time to time. If there was a problem they fixed it very fast.

Terrible customer service
I definitely didn't enjoy my stay at this hotel. The hotel staff were not friendly at all especially the restaurant staff. Only the room service cleaner was abit friendly but even she the first day open our hotel room door in the morning without knocking while we were still in bed at 8.30am in the morning. The room service when you call them on the phone takes a long time to pick up the phone and when you order food it takes a long time. I had to call several times. The first time i order food for my room the guy insisted i had to pay cash or use visa card up front and that i couldn't sign. Later I could sign for other meals after me complaining to the loby. At the end of my stay I found out you can only pay for meals and other hotel services like laundry by visa card and only in foreign currency so they refused to take my cash of Ethiopian birr which i had taken out soecif to pay. Their customer service is very bad. Also the fault room cleaning they didn't vacuum the carpet. Put simply I will never stay at this hotel again

We are not expecting in 4 star hotel the following things:- the toilet seat, headrest of the bathtub and showr handling was broken and also most of the light in the room was not working except one, the carpet in the elevator was dirty, beside this the room service and the restaurant personal was excellent.

I could not stop myself from writing down an appreciation letter to the friendships hotel for making our stay such a memorable one. Don't believe what you the see on the Internet.
It is a horrible experience i had. Bed is an old one and doesn't have a mattress (just mattress box) after i requests, they gave me a a military style mattress roughly 3" thickness and ripped off 😴. Doors fallen apart, safety box is loose not anchored down to anything. My final advice for "Hotel.com", i don't know what mechanism you guys use to determine if the hotel eligible to be post on your sites. How is the hotel owner are reliable? Do you guy have team to assess the condition of the premises? As a loyal consumer to you, you must be reliable on the information you post. Other than that, you might loose your credibility as a company. I have attached pictures for your references and the future travellers.

Wonderful stay in Addis
Good location and friendly staff. Some wear and tear in the rooms and it can get noisy on weekend nights from nearby bars.

This was my second visit and I secured the most expensive room. It was what I expected! Very nice room, the bed was a little hard but everything else was good. I enjoyed the customer service. The breakfast was the best. The gym need to be updated.

The staff was friendly, and the room was very nice. I would recommend that the hotel consider changing the shower. Because its a "module" shower / a box installed in the bathroom with a shower inside the box. The tile shower at the Venetian Hotel with floor drain constructed by workers is a better design. There was also a jacuzzi tub, which was nice.
