Lovely restful Hotel.
Had two restful weeks which was wanted. There was every oportunity to sightsee. Staff and service and choice of food excellent. Found the walk down to the rooms steep. Would need to book rooms on the level at side of hotel if having walking difficulty. Certainly recommend!

OK, but not a 4-star hotel
Overall the hotel was fine. Some hidden costs IMO. We had full board, which covers room and food; note, drinking water - even at lunch and dinner - is charged. The room (double as two singles) was sufficient as a base, and generally nice and quiet (couldn't hear the road, or most other guests); air-con I think was for show only, as it didn't seem to make any impression on the room temperature. The spa is charged at €15 per person per day, so we didn't use it: I think they are misleading in their wording on the website. The bar and waiting staff were very friendly, and clearly made a lot of effort. One of the receptionists, on the other hand, was pretty unapproachable and seemed aggravated by our presence. The bar serves decent cocktails, which were well priced, though beers, wines, and water are marked up significantly; and it's a shame the evening keyboard player - slash one-man band - felt the need to turn up the volume so much. (I don't want to be mean, so will just leave it at that). The pool was ok, but at no point did they turn on the waterfall; I think it is only used now for marketing. Food-wise (buffets): breakfasts were so-so, and the coffee is terrible; lunches and dinners were good, and varied throughout the week. Again, I think for full board, drinks (at least water, surely) should be included.

Good points: nice big rooms and big bathroom. good size outdoor pools Nice hotel layout Some very nice staff not all Bad points: Cleanliness not up to scratch, cleaners only make your bed and don't change the sheets Dirty floors. Jacuzzi In the room but didn't work. Would advice eat out.

Lovely and big hotel
The hotel itself is lovely and big however me and my partner went for our birthdays (just turned 25)and it doesn't really cater for our age group.There was entertainment on a night but it was mostly in French and German we asked the staff why and they said it mostly caters for the French and German so most events that were on were for them!The food was okay,the rooms and the balcony were very nice.The clearners however didn't give the rooms a good clean but it was satisfactory.Would definitely visit Tenerife again but not this hotel as it doesn't cater for younger people and the hotel is a little bit out of the way!

Very isolated, lovely for a quiet relaxing break !
We felt very isolated at this hotel ! It was a taxi ride to go anywhere ! We were very disappointed with the entertainment as it was not geared for British people at all ! Food was nice and staff were very friendly.

Viewing the hotel and amenities on the data base did not match up to the experience. A car was a necessity and not what we wanted as we had seen a lot of Tenerife before and wanted to relax and enjoy the beach and read etc., The walk to the jetty was about 20 minutes going down and half an hour coming up (very steep hill). We were obliged to wear coloured arm bands to indicate which type of board we had paid for - this was kept a close eye on by the staff which made you feel like a convict looking for an opportunity to steal something. Friendliness in general was at a minimum mainly because of the many different nationalities staying and people were reticent to speak without knowing they would be understood. The food was fine but not hot enough and served buffet style. The plate was whipped away once you put down your knife and fork before you could go back for something else!

Nice Hotel with leisure facilities
We enjoyed our stay, the staff were friendly and helpful. The leisure facilities were good. The evening meals were excellent. What does let the hotel down a bit is that in general looks a little tired in places. Would recommend they renew the beds. Did not sleep well because the mattress was not comfortable. They also need to replace the broken tiles in the pool area. Would definitely go back as the good points outweighed the bad overall.

Great stay
We had a lovely stay here hotel was nice although beds a little uncomfortable it's a beautiful setting and nice and quiet which was what we as a couple were looking for not a lot in way of entertainment lol but to us that was not an issue to b honest if ur looking for a nice relaxing holiday by the pool it's perfect there is a small village about a10 bin walk down the hill and a bus stop right outside hotel if u want to venture into las Americas adeje or anywhere else we found it very easy to navigate around and a lot cheaper than taxis hotel also offers free shuttle to adeje a few times a day

hotel was good, although the beds were very hard to sleep on and I do like a firm mattress. Only stayed 2 nights. first dinner was cold and rather poor but the breakfast and Monday evening dinner was great. the waiters were all smiles and friendly. swimming pools are nicely divided. pool tables and ping pong table available. Would stay again.

Absolutely dismal
Run down ill maintained. The receptionists were disgruntled and unhelpful. No wireless in room and Internet limited to lobby which cut the guest out after an hour. There is no golf resort but just a mini golf ground. Dining was good pool was ok. Not much activities in the evening especially for kids. Isolated a good 15 minute walk to the beach with even less night life. I would nevery go again. The only good thing about the hotel was the bar staff

Hard beds. Loads of flies in our room. We had two dead cockroaches in a light fitting all week. Asked four times for the fridge to be repaired and was told someone would check it. The manager came after the forth time and it hadn't even been plugged in. Have to pay for a spa at a spa resort which is mad. Food needs work. Towels some days were threadbare. The sun loungers around the pool were lovely though, got a better sleep on them than in the bed.

What a joke!
Arrived here Christmas Day, with my 5 month pregnant girlfriend. Terrible experience and never once felt comfortable or relaxed, due to rude staff, low standard food and an ant infested room. Shame on you 'grand hotel Callao' and shame on you Expedia! It's just felt like a ruined Christmas and New year!

Lovely hotel facilities in a small town.
Lovely hotel facilities. Rooms were located down a wee hill. The indoor pool could be used for an additional charge. The reception staff were not particularly welcoming or warm in their manner. The bar and waiting staff were super. The food was not particularly good. There is no shops/bars/restaurants close to the hotel. It is located at the top of a hill on the outskirts of the small town. You have to walk around 2 km down a hill to reach any.

Lovely Hotel - Location poor
Lovely hotel set in beautiful gardens. Pool area lovely. Went for HB option & cannot fault food at all, always plenty of choice. Restaurant & bar staff very pleasant .... Made a wicked piña colada 🍹. Rooms spacious with balconies big enough for table & chairs and 2 sun loungers. One disappointment about this hotel was location. Callao Saljeve is very quiet with only a few restaurants & bars. It's located about 10km away from Costa Adeje / Las Americas. Hotel is top of a very steep hill & most of the rooms are also down a hill so not great for those with mobility issues although hotel does have motorised buggies & a courtesy bus to Adeje (2 journies every day except a Friday). Didn't use Spa but looked very nice. However we did book a treatment only to be told when we arrived at appointment time that manicurist wasn't on duty. This was very disappointing since we had booked 2 days in advance so there had been plenty of time to advise us & make alternative appointment which now wasn't possible as we left following morning. Would not return to Grand Hotel Callao solely on basis of its location

Mainly a french hotel. Gorg pool and spa, food not really to our liking however restaurants close by down a hill 20min walk. Lovely and peaceful, terrible entertainment package at night though but it didn't really bother us! Rooms nice but in need of a little tlc. Staff very helpful. Gym is small but has the basics.

Good size but dirty rooms, thread bare towels, shower leaked all over bathroom floor. Breakfast buffet not very appetising, only fruit available were bananas and apples. Hot food was lukewarm and greasy. They ran out of cups & saucers every day. Generally not 4star standards.

Quite place with a nice spa and warm outside pool
This place is quiet and it is not the best option for people who are looking for an active social holiday. Place is located 30 minutes from South Tenerife airport, which costs about 40 euro on taxi. Hotel has a nice very good spa facility, good golf field, large relaxation area, game area and three pools. Trip to Costa Adeje on local bus takes about 45 min and about 2 euro. Bus stop is located next to hotel entrance. Hotel minibus is much more convenient. The nearest shopping can be done in Callao Salvaje, it is about 10 min. walk downhill, where a couple supermarket and a few takeaways and little shops are located. When we took a taxi from Callao Salvaje village to hotel, it costs us 3 euro during day time. Local beach is located nearby, it is good one and the only one problem with it that it is stony. Pluses of this hotel: - Hotel provides access to spa. Spa is really nice - You can everyday 30 min. massage at spa in case you booked Wellness room option - Heated pool is very good, not so many hotels provide it - Relaxation area is excellent - Hotel provides a trip to Costa Adeje twice a day, except Friday. Costa Adeje has very good sandy beach and good opportunity for shopping, especially during Thursday and Saturday market day Attention: Children are not allowed into spa building.

perfectly nice hotel but the beds were AWFUL.
The hotel experience was all fine and very nice. But the beds really spoilt our holiday as they were so uncomfortable we could not sleep. Very hard and hard pillows too. They need to do something about the beds and then the whole thing would be extremely nice.

Friendly staff. Quiet Hotel which is what we were looking for a very short break after our wedding with the plans for a honeymoon next year. Loved the spa, spent two out of the 4 day stay at the spa. And spent many hours in the chill out area with a lovely view. 15 minute walk to the restaurants, plenty of choice. Only negative is beds quite uncomfortable and condition of rooms would not say are 4 star.

You couldn't fault the hotel or the staff the pool area and bar were very relaxing. The only minor thing that may cause people a problem is that the hotel is on a hill quite far away from the beach and shops.

Had a great week with my girlfriend in this Hotel! 6.-13.09.! Very helpful and super friendly staff members, clean room, nice see view, nice music every evening, big and clean pool, no trouble to find a sunny place, a lot of chillout furnitures all over the hotel complex...absolutely enjoyable, was a great stay with great weather. we will definetly come back. If you love the beach, rent a car! We have been once to los christianos/ las americas, its just a 10-15 min drive. We really appreciated being a bit apart from all the strong toursim rush and stress. We really enjoyed it and would recommend it if you dont like to be in the heart of the tourism-center.

Great hotel for a very quiet holiday
We spent 1 week here only booking 2 days before we left. My daughter age 21 and myself wanted a week of doing nothing but sunbathing. The hotel is extremely quiet mainly French and Spanish and not really suitable for young people or children. Spotlessly clean through the entire hotel and grounds . We were on a full board package and drinks at the hotel very well priced for a 4 star property. We loved the pool area, 2 large swimming pools which were nice and warm with lovely sun beds having thick padded mattresses . We hired towels from the Spa for €10 each which was refundable. We had room 212 which got the sun all day and had lovely sea views, the balconies at this hotel are extremely large which is great.

Fabulous Hotel for Quiet week
Ideal for couples, me and my boyfriend stayed loved the size of rooms and balcony was huge! The hotel has a range of activities to do pool is gorgeous and spa. Lovely relaxing areas. Half board for free which was an excellent bonus food was nice with different offerings each night! Not many uk guests, mainly French. Would stay again!

Lovely hotel in beautiful surroundings
This hotel is perfect for a relaxing getaway, the hotel is set in a beautiful peaceful tropical garden, there is a fantastic spa which for 12euros you can use all the pools, sauna, whirlpool etc. excellent value. The hotel staff were very polite and helpful, the entertainment staff really tried hard to make people have fun. The food was good all buffet but something for everyone, overall we had a very pleasant holiday and would definitely go again. Only downside is it is about 1 mile from the town which was no problem for us as we love to walk but if you don't or can't then this is not the place for you. The hotel runs a free bus into Las Americas twice a day also the local bus stops outside the hotel it's a very good service running every hour so you can travel to anywhere on the island .

A lovely relaxing break.
Rooms a little worn, requiring updating but spotlessly clean. Grounds very well maintained, clean and tidy. Bar area lacks character and comfort and could be improved. Entertainment crew try hard to please and all other staff pleasant, friendly and helpful at all times. Food, the usual buffet type of fare, not wildly exciting but quite acceptable. Pool area excellent, 3 pools catering for all needs with plenty of sunbeds and cushions although the cushions are showing signs of wear and tear. Good sporting facilities, golf, tennis, squash and spa facilities. Overall, good value for money and we would go back.

Could have been so much better.
First the plus points. The staff were Lovely, very friendly and helpful. Room was good with an excellent bathroom. Now the minus points. The room had no view whatsoever and there was also no privacy, anyone walking by could look straight in. The overall quality of food on offer was hit and miss. Finally, we really wanted to like this hotel, unfortunately, it never quite managed to live up to our expectations.

Exclusive hotel with beautiful surroundings
Large well maintained compound and beautiful settings, the blue and the mountains in view really an amazing breathe taking views. We love the exotic trees, flowers, bananas and others, there is so much to see and we made several walks to admire the beauty of it all. We enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere, the quietness and the tranquility makes us just chill and we loved it. There is a church on the compound and makes it a sacred place to sit and relax around it. Nice clean rooms with balconies, with the view of the blue sea and other beautiful houses. We had the opportunity to use the Spa and we had a great time. There is live music at dinner time. Good varieties and choice of food at breakfast, lunch and dinner. Hope to go back again

Needed hotel in SW Tenerife away from larger resor
Attractive "campus" with pleasant planting of palms and banana trees etc. Some ongoing maintenance work. Two pools, one heated. Large restaurant with self-service buffet meals (we had 1/2 board). Don't expect tea making facility in room. Large clean rooms with little outdoor area/balcony. Staff helpful. Adjacent to frequent local bus route. Overall location *Callao Salvaje" friendly, local facilities. Local bus route does not always go into village - why? Only stayed there two nights and then moved on.

one of themale receptionst was very lazy when my purise had been stolen by the pool on my last day. the pool man was very helpful and sore the people who took it but when he inform the lazy receptionst earlyer that some peolpe had arrived by the pool were not staying there as he did not see there wrist bands,the receptiost just gave him a other job to do,so by the time he came back to the pool my purse was gone.
