The Allenwood is tucked away in a seemingly rural area, even though there are nearby freeways. It is well managed and close to shopping such as the amazing Wegman's store. We chose it because it's a 15-min drive to Macungie Park, the site of the dog show we were going to attend (but the motel doesn't accept dogs). The couple who run the place were very helpful in getting us what we needed and we'd definitely stay there again.

Didnt like the rude man at check in or reluctance to giving me soap becauuse he didnt believe the room didn't have it. For a highly overpriced room, that was very annoying. The room reeked of cigarettes, the TV had tape all over it. Basically it was just way too expensive for being so grubby.

Odd device in the room which I think was a motion sensor. Also there was a guy just laying in the grass on the property. The desk clerk came in my room as I was loading up my car to leave before my stuff was out. Very strange place. Not sure why they acted so weird.

Thank you, Kelli for your feedback. The 25 deposit is used towards key deposit and late check out but it is fully refundable if they return key at stated check out.

We needed a smoking room since we are vapers and it's too cold to run outside to vape, they are few and far between. The room was dirty, dingy, stains on the carpet, the blinds were streaked with dirt and smoke and were sticky. Cigarette burns in the bed linens, the deadbolt wouldn't lock, the toilet over flowed and it was just plain nasty. If we had more money, we wouldn't have stayed and went somewhere else. It's apparent the place is old and the owners are just taking in the money until it falls apart.

The person who checked us in was nice. My wife left her purse outside and he made sure he got it to us right away when he saw it. However, the room was outdated and very dirty. It’s the most outdated and dirty room we’ve ever stayed in. The vertical blinds on the front window were filthy and a couple were broken, sacrificing some privacy. Thank God it was just one night.

The manager gave me two different prices for check in that were different from prices reflected on Expedia. I was then told that there would be a $20 per hour early check in fee, making the fee $150 to check in two hours before 3 PM when the rate reflected is $68, definitely not worth the price nor the headache; for such a poorly ran establishment.

Beware of cleanliness
Room was dirty on one bed, had nuts left all over it. There was someone’s clothes in a bag tucked in between the bed and the night stand just disgusting…Then I woke up with welts, not sure what was in this particular room to cause that, just felt like I was getting bit but didn’t see anything, only found a stink bug but I captured him and left him in a soda bottle.

This is the worst motel I have ever stayed in. The sink and faucet was very filthy as if it hasn’t been clean. The bathroom is outdated and old. Just nasty. The place is a dump. U don’t get extra towels or sheets. There’s no astray in a smoking room. I had to sleep with chairs behind the door. Felt so unsafe. Never ever again. Stay far away from this place.

Worst hotel I've seen in 50 years.
Don't ever stay there exclamation? Filthy! Pubic hair in the sink. No telephone. No alarm clock. No radio. Grossly dirty and stained carpet and chairs. No electric outlet at the desk or table. One half roll of single ply toilet paper. Blinds wooden clothes and people could see in. No safety chain on the door. Not well lit. No sense of safety or security. I couldn't get the hot water to work in the shower. No drain plug in the shower. The bathroom door was grossly dirty grimy and greasy. Clearly it did not been cleaned in months!

Needing to cut costs on my trip. I chose this hotel. The propery is okd and run down. There was a large roach in the bathtub and the room wreaked of smoke. This was a mistake.

The minute we walked in the room we had to walk out and go to a store and buy air fresheners. The towels was so old that when you take a shower it was so hard to dry yourself. Didn’t get a good nights sleep due to the fact that they have no curtains on the windows plus the door lock was barely working had to put a chair inside the room to block entrance door. For the price that I paid for the stay it was not worth The situation we were put in.

Property is disgusting. It’s a very old motor lodge that has been smoked in since the early 1800’s… if you’re not a smoker, you will NOT be able to stay there. They have a no refunds policy. I spent 360 dollars on a a disgusting and smoke smell room that I couldn’t use. Manager will not refund your money.

Considering the price, the motel was creepy. Reminded me of someplace ax murderers go to find their victims. Very isolated at the end of a road.

The dresser drawer is broken, and second drawer didn’t open it. the bathroom’s tiles floor needed to be bleached. The comforter blanket got some mini brown dirts on the comforter needed to be washed. The carpet’s floor needed to shampoo carpet.

We found this place in a pinch. It was ran down and not clean at all. There was bodily fluids on the walls in the bathroom and also in the room itself. They offered an ice bucket but had no ice! It was on a dead road with a lot garbage on the property which was such an eye sore. I wouldn’t recommend this place for a pet to stay the night!

We were traveling with dogs (showing), and though we did not bring them in the room, there was lots of area to walk them. Our room was spacious, had a fridge & microwave. It was very adequate and clean. I had forgotten my meds, which arrived the day after we left, snd the Manager sent them overnight to me for shipping and a nominal charge. We will definately stay there again!

Shows lack of maintenance. Cracks in the baseboard by the door, mold in the bathroom, the lights by the bed did not work, there was no bulb in the floor lamp, the place was in dire need of a thorough renovation.
