“The place is very run down. The carpet in the entryway to my room had a huge stain on it. The room itself was not carpeted. It had a VERY old run down window unit air conditioner that was extremely loud when it ran (IF it ran!) The bathroom was extremely small with no vanity or counter space. I had to use the window sill (yes, the bathroom had a window.) Two of the three lamps in the room didn't work. The bed was lumpy and uncomfortable. It looks NOTHING like the pictures on line. The...

“Unfortunately, this was a very disappointing stay. The room was not clean, and the bed was infested with bugs, making it impossible to sleep. By the time I discovered the issue, the front office was already closed, so I had no way to report it or request another room. As a result, I was forced to spend the night sleeping in my car. I hope the hotel addresses its cleanliness standards and provides a way for guests to get assistance after hours to prevent others from having a similar experience.”

“After reading recent reviews I was nervous. We had two rooms. One room was in good shape. The other was small, the bed was broken, and the shower made a loud ringing sound when in use. “Lady at the desk refused my reservation saying she told them she wasn't doing the online reservations anymore. repeatedly. Stayed anyways as I needed a room. Room smelled a little odd, not bad, but something scented for cleaning? and towels and toilet paper were low grade and no shampoo or conditioner, just a single soap bar in the bathroom.”

“Nice place for a smaller family. Sleeper sofa was kinda small so it's ok for one person. Sofa/living room small as well. Table is too small for everyone to eat together. The place has a very modern and minimalist look which I appreciate. A very short walk and you're at the beach. Staff was great. Had no issues at all during my stay.”

“This was our 8th time at the Shalimar. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. Our room was clean and met all our needs. The pool was well maintained and parking was always available. They have a small arcade, five hole golf, cornhole and a ping pong table. Learned today they have a fitness room! There's something for everyone. We're going back in a few weeks! Highly recommend.”

“The location was great, the staff were great, room was dated, everything functioned properly however, the toilet pivoted on the base and felt like it was going to break off, cabinets and fixtures were very dated, bed was comfortable and the room and property were very clean. The pool was small and always packed with kids. There were 3 grills that looked well maintained; however, they were always backed up and never had a chance to use them. For comparable prices in the area, I would stay again.”
