Good value for money Aircon was broken during stay which was disappointing as we were only told on arrival. Tried to leave windows open to cool room however people yelling on the street outside made this impossible overnight. Asked staff to reimburse price of parking and they obliged which seemed a fair compromise. Poor communication to start but good customer service.

There was no air conditioning which on a hot day in January isn't good enough. Apparently an ongoing issue for a few months so we wouldn't have booked if we knew that. Also the bathroom had ants and was grimy. Not family friendly as we had a balcony and no lock on the balcony door. We could not relax with our three year old, worrying he might open the door. The tv did not have any channels we had to cast from our phones. Dairy free milk options would have been great. The iron provided did not work I had to phone for another one and took ages to get it. Won't stay here again.

Parkside hotel was a great location to end our 2 week stay in New Zealand. After lots of hiking, we were thankful for a jacuzzi tub and a laundry machine. Would highly recommend!

The room was spacious and well set out, if in a little in need of TLC. The problem was that they was no air conditioning. The building is multi-storied with large windows allowing the sun to really heat the room. When i questioned reception regarding the lack of aircon, the advised that it hasn't worked for 2 years. They also hastened to say that this was clearly shown on their website. Ofcourse it isn't, nor on Expedia nor on any communication. In October it was difficult to sleep in the heat, i would hate to try in summer. I can't understand how they can charge these rates with a basic amenity missing.

very handy to the Aotea centre and Town hall for events, Elliot stables for dining options, secure underground parking available on site (pays to book though) Staff are very helpful and there is a small mini mart across the road for drinks and snacks etc.
