A gem of a hotel
A really warm welcome, the owners were so helpful and informative. Balatongyrök is quiet but there were plenty of restaurant options available. The hotel is well situated and the service is really good.

Lovely calm place
Very welcoming. Lovely room with good air-conditioning...it was 34 degrees outside. Handy for the lake and good transport links. Only thing..don't put boiling water into the Blue mugs..no handle and they get very hot..one of ours broke for which we were charged.

Great hotel
From the welcome to the depart we were looked after nothing was any trouble. Lovely hoisted, great location, lovely family run hotel could not have wished for a better stay totally would recommend this hotel.

persönliches Hotel mit sehr netten Gastgebern
Wenn ich das Hotel zu sehr lobe, wollen alle dahin und wir bekommen dann kein Zimmer mehr. :-) Nein im Ernst, uns hat es sehr gut gefallen und wir können uns vorstellen noch einmal hinzufahren. Machen wir eigentlich sonst nicht.

Very nice and quiet place near Lake Balaton
The place is very near to lake Balaton and easy to find. The hotel is small and this makes it quiet and relax. The owners are very nice and welcome everyone with explanations on surroundings and good tips.

Balaton days
We had 3 wonderful days at the Albergo, a very nice place to stay close to the Lake Balaton. Agnes the owner and her family are so welcoming as if we were family. And she gave us several tips where to eat and what to see around that little town. The breakfast is great, all what you wish for is on the buffet. We will recommend this to our family and friends. Bra och trevligt boende. Trevligt för ett par och underbar frukostterass och bra buffé. Gillar dock inte att få 2 sängar som man sätter ihop till dubbel som glider isär under natten.

Als je houdt van een zeer persoonlijke behandeling is dit hotel een aanrader. Familie is eigenaar en verzorgt de gasten goed. Goede kamers met tv en airco, schoon en prima ruim. Ontbijt is goed en heerlijk buiten op het terras. Lokatie is op loopafstand van het Balatonmeer. Voor Hongarije is de prijs wel wat aan de hoge kant.

Such a lovely place and owners
Host family is very nice and helpfull! They gave as very good tips where to go and what to do! Place and room were very clean and comfortable. Everything was just perfect! :)

Nice clean quiet hotel
Upon our arrival we were welcomed by friendly and informative staff. The main tourist attractions and better restaurants, two of which were within walking distance turned out to be great. The small but clean pool facilities were a nice touch. The hot breakfast and a couple of different coffee and tea selections, made for a nice start to the day. Pleasant 10 minute walk to a well kept and clean beach.

Een rustig gelegen hotel. Zwembadje alleen voor kinderen. Vriendelijk personeel. Goed gevarieerd ontbijt met niet altijd verse broodjes. Gelukkig is er op de kamer een koelkast voor zelf aan te schaffen frisdranken. Naast de mooie natuur in West-Hongarije is de infrastructuur gedateerd, er is in de laatste 15 jaren nauwelijks iets veranderd.

Gemütlicher, familiärer & gastfreundlicher Besuch
Wir wurden sehr freundlich und herzlich empfangen und haben uns richtig wohl gefühlt - die Gastgeber nehmen sich viel Zeit, Ausflugsziele und Besonderheiten zu erklären. Zum See ist es ein kleiner Spaziergang durch die sehr gepflegte Ortschaft. Alles in allem ein sehr schöner Aufenthalt, wir kommen gerne wieder.

Perfect place for a relaxing break
A lovely small hotel, with great welcome. The distance from the lake might be a problem for some people, but for us it meant a good walk and kept us away from the busy summer village. The small swimming pool in the garden provided a good place to relax and was very secluded. The owners are delightful and are very keen to ensure everyone enjoys the experience of Lake Balaton. I would highly recommend this hotel.

A beautiful location and fantastic service
.Their hotel is like a private villa with a cosy swimming pool surrounded by roses and other beautiful shrubs and flowers. We stayed in 2 beautiful rooms opposite each other with balcony and private garden. The walk to the lake was very pleasant as you passed amazing villas, good value restaurants and wine testing cabins ! We tried most restaurants but our favourite is definitely Zeppelin, where you get a 10% discount curtsey of Albergo Giardino. The food was outstanding, I had the best mixed grill ever! The menu was varied, we had goose once and loved it. The staff were most helpful and very friendly. We had complementary Schnapps to celebrate my daughter's birthday. We really loved our holiday, the proprietors of Albergo Giardino are very professional and made our stay memorable. They helped us to organise trips to Heviz (a local town with a thermal lake, 20mn away by bus), to Ketzthely (nearest city, 10 mn by train with lots of museum and an impressive palace). We also took a boat trip to Szigliget where we visited vineyards in a 4x4 vehicule. I would strongly recommend staying at Albergo Giardino as this place is one in a million!

Esittelyssä mainitaan sauna ja infrapunasauna, joita ei ollut käytettävissä. Samoin pöytätennistä tai muita peliaktiviteetteja ei ollut saatavana, ohjattiin rannalle pelaamaan. Kylpyhuone wc oli erittäin lämpimän kostea, siellä ei ollut minkäänlaista ilmanvaihtoa. Huoneessa ei ole ilmastointia, on ropeli katossa. Pyynnöstä huolimatta huoneeseen ei saanut kuin yhden avaimen, tämä vaikeutti kulkemista. Hotelli alueelta pääsee poistumaan ainoastaan portista, joka tulee itse avata ja lukita kulkiessa. Aamupala oli hyvä, mutta mitään virvokkeita ei ollut mahdollista ostaa päivän aikana, ei uima-altaallekaan. Tämä majoitusvaihtoehto sopii matkustajille, jotka pitävät B&B tyyppisistä yhteisöllisistä matkustustavasta, majoituksesta perheessä. Mielestämme tämä ei ole hotellitasoista majoitusta.

Var som en saga, litet trevligt och vackert hus med underbara ägare. Så hjälpsamma och vänliga. Hon tog hand om engelskan och mannen tyskan. Berättade om omgivning och tipsade om utflyktsmål på ett bedårande sätt. Oerhört förekommande. Inte för många gäster, utan rart och intimt.

Cute B&B with great service
We were looking for a cute small place to stay on Lake Balaton that would welcome our 6 year-old son. The innkeepers were very friendly and accommodating and saw to our every need. The place is relatively new, neat and set-up for relaxing. The rooms are tidy and the beds have thermofoam tops. It is also a bicycle ride or short car ride from many things to do. We will be back.

Tolles Hotel mit mediteranem Flaire
Wir waren 9 Tage im Albergo Giardino. "Albergo" ist etwas unzutreffend, treffender wäre "kleines, familiäres Hotel". Die Bilder im Internet sind zutreffend, das Hotel ist sehr gepflegt und sauber. Die Zimmer sind über 2 Stockwerke angeordnet, wobei sie im oberen Stock über eine Dachschräge und keinen Balkon verfügen. Das Badezimmer ist ausreichend groß dimensioniert so dass keine Platzangst aufkommt. Die Eigentümer sind sehr freundlich und bemüht, den Gästen den Aufenthalt so angenehm wie möglich zu machen. Das Frühstück ist für diese Kategorie sehr reichhaltig (versch. Brotsorten, Toaster, Hefezopf, versch. Marmelade, Müsli, Wurst- u. Käsesorten, Eieromlette mit Speck und Joghurt) und schmackhaft. Eine kleine SAECO für den obligatorischen Frühstücksespresso ist ebenfalls vorhanden. Gegenüber des Giardino befindet sich das Lokal „Zeppelin“ welches eine abwechslungsreiche und schmackhafte Speisekarte hat. Die Preise lagen zwischen 1.500 – 2.900 Forint. Für Gäste des Giardino gab es 10% Preisnachlass. Zum Balaton sind es ca. 700m an welchem ebenfalls mehrere kleine Lokalitäten und Bars zu finden sind. Wir waren vor 4 Jahren schon mal in der selben Gegend und haben festgestellt, dass die Preise um ca. 40-50% gestiegen sind. Fazit: Wir waren gerne hier und werden bestimmt wieder kommen. Das (kleine) Hotel braucht sich nicht vor größeren einer höheren Kategorie zu verstecken.

Perfect place for a family holiday
Agnes and her husband couldn't have been more welcoming, and everything was just right for our family (54, 51, 15, 13#. She filled us in on all the things to do in the area, with leaflets and guides, but gave us just the right amount of attention. The pool might look a bit small on the website, but is quite large enough to cool down in at the end of the day. The viilage is very attarctive #particularly the chaps in garden sheds selling glasses of locally-produced wine for 30p a go in the evenings#, and is excellently located in the middle of so many things to do and such beautiful countryside. The Zeppelin restaurant in the garden of the house across the road is excellent too #there's a discount for guests of the hotel).
