The facility is relatively new. I was there in August, mid-week. The price was fine, and frankly I did not have great expectations. But I was there for two nights and the room was not touched during the day between nights (I was away for about twelve hours, so there was plenty of time to attend to room). But bed was not made, bathroom not touched, towels were where I left them.
Decor--an effort has been made, but the results are not pleasing or tasteful. Room is very dark, and shades on reading lights don't fit and are dark red, meaning there isn't enough light to read in bed. Tried to tip it up, but it was large and the lamp was very close to the wall. Bottom line, reading in bed was next to impossible. Sheets are polyester blend, which is not surprising for rural Ireland, but is not great for a new hotel trying to make a dent in an established market.
Hotel has a nice view of the water from the front, but despite being nearly empty, they put me on the back side of the building where my view was of a grass bank. It was advertised as a mountain view, but there was NO view of a mountain--just a grassy hill about 8 feet from the window.
Location is good--there are places to eat within walking distance, or you can drive into town if you have a car. Bishop's Quarter beach is less than a mile away, so you can walk to that.
I'll come back to this location, but will look for other accommodation.
