We really enjoyed the lobby and the walk to our room. The employees were very courteous and the hotel was very-well decorated. Opening the door to our room, we could see that it was spacious and that its furnishings were in keeping with the hotel's overall feel. They had even placed free snacks in our kitchen!
The disappointment started when we tried to connect to Wifi. After struggling for a few minutes, I called the front desk. They informed their technician who called us to say that he was working on the problem. While waiting for the problem to be fixed, we walked down to the pool. It was beautiful except that there was no water! Riding the elevator back to our room we noticed a bulletin that indicated the pool would be opened the following day. We had our doubts, but we thought it was possible.
Since the Wifi problem continued when we returned to our room, we went out for supper.
Returning to the room, we continued to have trouble connecting. We contacted Expedia who tried to secure a refund for our unused days and went to bed.
The next morning, the bulletin in the elevator said the pool would not be open for another week!
We decided to find another hotel even though Expedia told us the hotel owner was not willing to reimburse us for our unused nights.
My recommendation is that you NOT stay at Baan Montida. There is a chance that it would work out beautifully, but, if it doesn't, you won't get your money back.
