The Pros: Lovely mattress, fantastic for sleeping; amenities were really fantastic; there was a nice pool although didn't have time to use. The response times from staff were extremely fast. Air conditioning was okay. Checking was online and fast. The Cons: US 31 Construction right outside door; I know the hotel couldn't control that. Rooms were from the 1950s or 60s. Outdated fixtures. The shower in #9 was a wild experience. Very hard to reach and the spray would take your skin off. I'm not kidding. You had to aim it to the side so you didn't get pelted. Netflix was the only channel on TV. Unfortunately, would not stay again. Husband hated it. Sorry.

I've never seen clean room like this. Everything was shining and well maintained. The owner, Marta, is an amazing lady. Great staff and lake view.. it was great experience, definitely will come back!

Quaint little Motor Lodge that was tastefully decorated, comfortable and convenient. Parking right outside of your door, staff were friendly and helpful, room was very clean. If you're tired of large hotels, try this little Motor Lodge, it was delightful!

We stayed for 2 nights on our way home from another locale. Kids had a blast in the pool and playing ping pong outdoors near the office. Room was clean, nice strong shower, and property was in good condition overall. A very fun, unique stay. Recommend.

What a find! Motel Bear Lake was a last minute reservation for me. I got there late and the office was closed but I texted the number and immediately got a call back. The person walked me through getting into my room while I was still on the phone. The room was lovely, spotless, and full of little treats. A unique spot, truly. Would 100% stay again.

I was very impressed with this motel! The noise in the rooms is minimal despite being on a busy road. The rooms not only looked clean, but it SMELLED clean!! That's something even new hotels/motels struggle with, especially with AC units, but this place was great!!! The beds were comfortable and I appreciated both the amount of pillows, and the variety of firmness! The staff were all helpful and really friendly too! The kaftans were so. Cute. Disclaimer for my fellow FATTIES Not negative, just info that I think would be helpful. I'd suggest getting your own bed rather than share, I already do this because I have insomnia issues and need to adjust a lot, These frames are slats, which was super comfortable, but I don't think it would have been good if my partner and I shared. The bathroom is also vintage, so it is pretty tight in the shower and toilet. They have a hand held in the shower, so that helps too! The chairs outside the room got stuck on my hips (I'm a size 18) but the metal chairs by the fire pit were wider and sturdier. The lounge chairs seemed pretty sturdy, but they were plastic. If you want to float comfortably bring a fat friendly floaty. The benches on the hill aren't bolted down, so be careful there!

Very unique fun, retro motel! Comfy beds. Clean. Pool closed early in our opinion. There was a water cooler and ice free to use. Ping pong, a fire pit, picnic tables, etc. walking distance to a small beach. Cute murals behind the building. Excellent water pressure. Cute gift shop. We enjoyed our stay! Would stay again. Parking lot is a little narrow. If you are a larger person, the toilet area in the room is VERY SMALL.

My entire stay was fantastic! The first day we were there we ran into an issue with the toilet. The very kind woman in the office area was quick to help resolve the issue, and wished us a fun weekend. The property was very clean, quiet and has the most comfortable pillows I have ever used in my life. Additionally, the water pressure in the shower was 100/10! The pool area was clean and my daughter LOVED it! The property is right across the street from a little spot you can go and watch the sunset. I highly recommend this motel!

It's cute. Do as I did: go to this expecting it to be reminiscent of a past era of travel but with modern upgrades and you will not be disappointed. I liked it a lot, although the bathroom is a bit outdated. Disappointed in the contact-less check-in; I would have enjoyed meeting the owner/operators, but with no staff around, you kind of feel a little funny. I like meeting people. Maybe that is different in season - I don't know. But pride in one's property and operation is best shown/shared through a friendly smile and welcome.

I will start off this review by saying I really didn't want to leave this type of review as motels get a bad rep for this to begin with. We stayed at Motel Bear Lake on Friday, 5/15. On Monday night, 5/18 we discovered a bed bug in our home. I immediately called the owner, Marta, to notify her. We had an inspection done to confirm it is a bed bug, but it is early on so not an infestation. Marta was proactive and had an inspection done, promised to rectify the situation to pay half of our service treatment bill, and to refund our stay. I loved the response and action from a small business owner from this unlucky situation everyone was involved in. Our service specialist stated it's likely the bed bug hitchhiked to Bear Lake Motel on a guest and then hitchhiked home with us. Well, it is now 5/21 and Marta has stated there are no visual bed bugs they could locate, it can two weeks for bed bugs to hatch, so they will NOT be paying half of our service treatment, we have yet to see the refund, and that any further questions can be directed to her attorney. For the health and safety of my family, with a 1 year and 2 year old, I will be having my home treated. I am disappointed that Marta could not assist us with resolving this more amicably given we 100% received bed bugs from her place of business. Hotels/motels have a responsibility to ensure their guests' experience is safe, clean, and pest-free. If they fail this duty, should rectify the situation for the guest.

I came up for a golf trip at the Arcadia courses and decided to stay here for my visit. The motel was hosting an art retreat which isn’t typically my thing but all the people I talked with were really cool. I talked briefly with the owner when I got there and she was amazing and had a really cool vibe. Would definitely stay again.
