The self-service check-in was tedious, the person available to assist in the process was unfriendly and provided help begrudgingly. Other staff, however, were helpful and friendly. The room was small (not atypical for Europe), but there was somewhat limited closet and drawer space. The location was good if your priority is being close to the main train station. However, there are better locations if you want to walk to destination sites.

This is a very nice hotel and extremely convenient in terms of closeness to transit/Ubahn/Sbahn/trains. The room was very nice with everything that you could want for a short stay. I would highly recommend the Hotel AMANO Grand Central

Good location, friendly staff, in general ok. Some "bugs" though, key card ceased to work twice, so we had to get new ones, toilet and shower were in separate rooms, which is fine, but there was no sink in the toilet room and no opportunity to hang towels to dry anywhere. Also, the water pressure in the sink in the shower room was so high that we drenched half the room several times... The bed was great, but the sleeping sofa was pretty uncomfortable...

Nice hotel great location steps from Berlin Central station. Friendly staff very accommodating. We tried the first night to eat at the on-site Italian restaurant and after approx.10 minutes of being ignored we got up and left. We tried it a second night and had better luck. The food was good and reasonable, service was fair. Overall the hotel is very solid, would stay again.
