Unclear directions to the car park.
The road was signposted as no entry.
Parkedd in the public car park (Crown Court) next door.
No luck on hotel parking. The 1 app refused to take payment.
The 1 desk staff was completely gormless.
The room was okay as far as size. We were staying one night for a gig, so didn't expect luxury.
The sides were dusty, the room was freezing cold.
My wife realised the window was open, we thought.
It turns out the window was actually damaged. It didn't close at all, and the hotel was clearly aware, as someone had botched a piece of wood and a makeshift latch which only stopped the window swinging open, it did nothing to lock or seal it.
The one chair was stained with multiple marks.
The light over the bed was dusty, with cobwebs.
The walls were stained.
The door looked like something had been splashed on it and dried.
The room was unsaleable and should have been taken off stock until it was up to saleable standard.
We went back to the desk to request another room.
Told the hotel was "fully booked".
I requested a new room or we were leaving.
Magically an alternate room became available.
4th floor no lift.
2nd room bigger "suite" bathroom was larger than the main room and periodically stank of sewage.
Next morning breakfast time was confirmed, changed, then when we actually came down 30 mins early, the girl on her phone at the desk tried to tell us we'd missed it.
The place is a state.
AVOID.
Extra star for the breakfast staff.
