"We appreciated the nice view, the friendly and helpful staff, and the convenient location for sightseeing and cruises m. My only criticism is that for a hotel as expensive as this one, I expected luxurious accommodations. What I got was a room with peeling wallpaper, a gouge in the wall, and a layout that shoved the king size bed within a foot of the wall, rendering it very difficult to maneuver to that side of the bed. We did find the bed reasonably comfortable but furnishings seemed a bit out of date for a top of the line hotel. Overall good stay."

"Close to Howe and in a decent area. Starbucks is nearby, so that was handy. Rooms were a nice size. Shower and bathroom a little small, but it’s downtown Vancouver. Nice open courtyard in the centre, available parking and a soft bed. Overall good stay."

"The hotel is definitely dated. You don’t notice it as much when you first walk in, but once you get to the hallways where the rooms are, you certainly do — including a bit of that “old church” smell. That said, everything was very clean and comfortable. The location is fantastic — right on the harbour and within easy walking distance of almost everything. There is currently construction directly outside, but it didn’t bother us and we couldn’t hear it from inside. Breakfast was fine and the dining room was lovely. My favourite part was that after breakfast it was essentially empty for the rest of the day. They played classical piano music, and I spent quite a bit of time working there. It was quiet, peaceful and fabulous. We booked two rooms. Both were dated, although the two-queen room was considerably more dated than the loft suite. The loft had a harbour view, a comfortable couch for sitting and chatting, and a well-stocked kitchenette. We didn’t cook, but it was great for simple things like making popcorn. The loft layout takes some getting used to, with the bed upstairs and bathroom downstairs, and the TV placement isn’t particularly practical. Still, the space worked well for us. If you’re looking for modern, this isn’t it, but it’s clean, comfortable and incredibly well located."
