2/10 Terrible

"Where do I start we got to the hotel on the first night go to the room to find there was no bedding for the kids we got charged for breakfast the next day for the kids the staff are useless the pool was closed by 7pm even tho is stated it was open till 9pm all the carpets in the hall way were taped down or ripped up the place is a joke for the price we paid"

"A lovely property with tasteful decor. All the staff are very pleasant. Palm Court restaurant was really nice, and the gym and swim facilities were good. The Sunday carvery is excellent and complimentary products in the room a nice touch. Not a lot of seating in the bar if wanting drinks only, most of it is for eating. Similarly, car parking is at a premium with a wedding on. Changing rooms are quite small, and could do with a spin machine for drying trunks (many have these now)."

"Slightly odd stay. The hotel is down a little lane. I didn't realise that there was a charge for parking until I arrived. You need to ring a bell to get in to the hotel and then you get let it. As I arrived there were some people who thought they had a room booked but the person working there could not find it. I was then checked in and taken to my room. Nothing about the hotel was explained. As we went to my room, some parts of the hotel looked grand with impressive furishings, others looked like they were still being refurbished. I saw signs for a bar & restaurant - and a health club - and asked about the bar and restaurant but that did not actually exist yet. There was no food or drink in the hotel. Access to my room was via a pin code rather than a key. I was concerned that the pin for my room was very simple and had a relationship to the room number so it may have been possible to work out the other pins for other rooms if they followed the same format. I wasn't given anything to show that I had checked in. My room was large and comfortable with a desk, good wardrobe space and a good comfortable bed. There were plenty of sockets but no USBs. The bathroom was a decent size and had a shower over a bath. The person who had checked me in didn't say much, and when I came to check out at around 7am there were no staff to be found anywhere in the hotel. After searching for some, I left a post it note to say I had checked out. "

"Couldn't fault the hotel at all. We were only there for one night as we went to a gig at The Tivoli, but we were very impressed. All members of staff were polite, friendly and very helpful; they went above & beyond & couldn't do enough for us. Room was clean, spacious and comfortable. We had an evening meal which was very good, lovely food & excellent service. Breakfast was also excellent, great choice & hot items were all freshly cooked, hence a little wait for some items sometimes, but well worth the wait. Staff worked so hard & were very attentive. Would thoroughly recommend the hotel."

"The hotel is nice. The hotel pub is the same. And the staff is polite. The coffee machine DID NOT WORK in the room. You couldn’t even put the mug (from the hotel room not my personal one) to pour coffee in it because it is too big. In the room there are no sockets. I wanted to charge my laptop and other devices, I didn’t have where. There are two “sockets” on one side and the other of the bed STRICTLY for phone cables. Meaning you insert the cable directly. That’s it. In the end I discovered the socket from the coffee machine and I dried my hair there with the hairdryer scattering the hair that was falling all over the mugs and kettle etc. At check out I was asked if everything is ok and I mentioned about the coffee machine and sockets. I was told that there are sockets in the room. I asked where? She said behind the television. I said thank you, I am not going to start moving the desk in the hotel room and the television to discover a possible socket hidden behind the television. People don’t go to a hotel to unplug the coffee machine, the kettle and the television. So that they can dry their hair or charge the phone laptop etc. All these should already be connected and additional sockets, not to unplug something from the socket so that I can use something else. For those who doubt that what I wrote would be true, or a possible reply from the hotel in which it will be said how it wouldn’t be as I wrote here, I inform you that I have videos from the hotel room."

"“Restaurant” is listed but that is a bald face lie. Sure, they serve a continentsl breakfast (for an additional charge) of cereal, make it yourself toast and yogurt, but the only thing that makes it a restaurant is the sign on the door. It’s like a Live, Laugh, Love, Lie about a restaurant. The nearest pub does not serve food, and then next 2 we stopped at stopped serving early. The gorgeous wooden stairs are crazy loud, so if you are in a room close to them, each time someone goes up and down, you will know and most likely wake up. The pretty sitting room in the photos was off limits anf had chains on the door. This place is perfection in the pictures, but like an abadoned movie set in real life. I would recommend you avoid it. "
