Pleasant Stay but slow house-keeping service
It was pleasant to stay in the hotel with my family. Location was perfect: Walk minutes to metro station / 10 minutes to Grand Church / many good restaurants within 10 minutes distances But house keeping service was so slow that we should wait for 2 hours to change new towels. And the swimming pool was not spa but merely swimming pool / sauna.

Tolle Lage
Schönes Hotel in sehr zentraler Lage. Eher Appartment-Komplex als Hotel, da es keinen täglichen Zimmer- Reinigunsservice gibt, die Zimmer aber mit Küche ausgestattet sind. Den Wellnessbereich teilt sich das Hotel mit einem Fitnesscenter. Frühstück haben wir nicht probiert, da im Umfeld auch viele Büchereien zu finden sind. Es sah aber sehr schmackhaft aus. Insgesamt also empfehlenswert.

Køkkenet manglede basalt udstyr. Vi fik ikke ny forsyning toiletpapir og måtte flere gange rykke for det. Hotellet løj først om at deres visa-automat var i stykker, så vi kun kunne betale kontant. Det nægtede vi, og pludselig indrømmede de at maskinen virkede, men de ville alligevel have halvdelen af beløbet kontant, hvilket vi også nægtede - til sidst efter 2 dages diskussion gik de med til at vi betalte hele beløbet på visa. Vi havde en fornemmelse af de prøvede at score sorte penge.

Vi hade beställt transfer från flygplatsen till hotellet. Det hade dom glömt bort. Lösa kranar och kontakter på rummet. Ballkongen var en smal remsa med vingligt staket. Gick inte att sitta där. Ingen städning och påfyllning av toalettpapper. När vi checkade ut ville dom ha kontant betalning och sa till oss att gå till en bankomat. När vi vägrade gick det helt plötsligt bra att betala med kort.

Dejligt sted, tæt på alt på pestsiden. Meget hjælpsomt personale . Lidt dyr morgenmad , så vi brugte det ikke da der var fine faciliteter i lejligheden.

Suits us perfectly
Loved the place. A little tatty in places but perfect location, great gym and pool with helpful staff. Great place for a little self catering but breky available if you want. Some noise from stag hostel next door and only one lift but seriously thinking of coming back mid winter for spa break. Loved budapest but railway taxis are thieves!

The city is fantastic the hotel and facilities are good and within walking distance of plenty of shop, bars and restaurants.

Looks good on paper but wouldn't recommend
The hotel looks good on paper. It has the potential to be really good but it was very disappointing. The room was quite spacious and the check in was very quick. That was about the only positives. When we arrived the wifi didn't work, which we asked the reception about. They gave us a hotspot device which didn't work either. So no internet for us. The TV only had four channels in Hungarian which is less than ideal for visitors who don't speak it (I am assuming most wouldn't). The bed was so hard that we had bad backs every morning. There was a lot of noise in the neighbourhood until quite late (2-3 AM) due to the number of local bars and clubs. The last two points are less than ideal for someone who is there to run a half marathon the next day. The noise continued into the hotel and our floor, people were shouting and singing on our corridor, but the room didn't have a phone to call reception. In the morning we checked out and were told the card machine wasn't working so we had to take money out from the conveniently placed cashpoint outside of the hotel. We refused and had to leave our card details for the charge to be made later. Finally, we had asked the receptionist to order a taxi for us. She forgot, so we had to rush to the train station. Overall, a very bad experience so we wouldn't recommend it to anyone or go back. All of this and we had to pay 20 euros to check out one hour late. Ridiculous.

ADVARSEL Kunne ikke betale med kort ved udtjekning. De sagde maskine ikke virkede. De ville have kontanter trods de oplyste kort. Uhøflig betjening. Blev sendt til ATM og bank men kunne jo ikke hæve hele beløbet, men det var der ikke forståelse for. Så de sidste timer i byen blev spildt. Kunne tilsidst godt bruge kort, da de jo ikke kunne få alle pengene i kontanter. Gør jeg ikke skal tilbage dertil. Og advarer mod at tage dette hotel, som åbentbart vil snyde gæsterne.

Nice hotel with great access to public fransport
As an apartment hotel great value with loads of space. Easy to get to from airport by public transport. Staff friendly and helpful . Street it stands on is just second street back from Andrassy Avenue but is somewhat shabby and run down this was not a problem though and the hotel itself was modern and bright. Tip use Octagon metro stop it is closer than Opera

Bedrövligt.
Hade bokat sviten, men när vi kom dit så var det fullt så vi skulle få ett bättre rum i ett bättre läge. Vi hamnade i en fallfärdig byggnad där rummet i och för sig var skapligt, men utan ac, sängarna och kuddarna var obekväma. Ingen frukost att tillgå. Kylskåpet var avstängt mm.

Zeer vriendelijk personeel aan de balie. Kamers zijn schoon alleen werden handdoeken niet elke dag vervangen. Als je erom vraagt krijg je wel gelijk schone. Leuke omgeving met bars en restaurants op loopafstand. Ook ov op loopafstand.

Godt og billigt hotel på en relativ rolig gade.
Havde en stor 2 værelselejlighed på anden sal, ud til gaden. Vi beder om et ud til gården næste gang. Hjælpsom personale. Lidt slidt hotel. Gode bade faciliteter men også godt brugt.

Good facilities with very helpful staff
We were a family of 2 adults and 2 teens. Apartment was at the front of building so yes there was some street noise at club closing time but not excessive. The apartments the,selves were really well sound proofed from other apartments. Shower and bath in the bathroom were of excellent quality. Wifi connection also reliable in the room. The central location was ideal and we walked everywhere easily. For food we had breakfast on site the first day which had a good choice but not good coffee. Remainder of time we used the bakery for great coffee and pastries which is located turn left out of main entrance then first left and its 2nd shop on right. The gymn was well equippped with a good range of free weights and equipment. It wa busy at times but no waiting for equipment. The pool was a good size and the jacuzzi, steam and sauna room were avilable. Open hours were 6 am to 10pm weekdays so we made full use most days. Whilst you were welcome to use the towels provided in your apartment, I'd recommend bringing your own for pool use. We had a family emergency whilst at the hotel with one of our party. The reception staff went above and beyond to offer their help and reassurance. I cannot thank them enough.

Très bon séjour. Studio grand et conforme à la description, pratique, bien chauffé et propre. Accès au spa jusqu'à 22h et accueil 24h/24 très pratique si vous arrivezpartez tôt. L'hôtel garde vos bagages si nécessaire avant votre départ. Centre à 1-15 mn à pied, lignes de métro et tram à 5mn

Az apartman ablakai utcára néznek, így nagyon zajos, így a pihenés és alvás elmaradt. A sötételő függöny teljesen átlátszó, emiatt éjszaka is világos volt. A nappaliban levő fűtési technológia borzasztóan zajos volt, a hálószobában nem működött és koszos. Az ágyak alatt takarítás elég régóta lehetett, a kanapé huzata lyukas. A fürdőszobában nem tudtuk sehova felakasztani a törölközőket. Pozitívumként értékeljük a recepció szolgáltatást, a wellness és fittness részleget, a parkolást, ill. az apartman felszereltségét, ami minden igényt kielégített.

Eccellente apparthotel per un soggiorno rilassante
City Gardens è stata una scelta favolosa. L'appartamento era ben oltre le nostre aspettative: grande, spazioso, arredato con gusto, pulito, nuovo, estremamente caldo ed accogliente. Abbiamo avuto la sensazione di vivere a Budapest e che quello fosse davvero il nostro appartamento, anziché una semplice camera d'albergo. Inoltre, pur trovandosi al limite di tutta la zona centrale della città, a due passi dalla fermata metro Oktogon, abbiamo potuto raggiungere a piedi tutti i principali luoghi di interesse da visitarei. Non abbiamo mai avuto la necessità di utilizzare la metro o un bus. Supermercati, banche e ruin pubs a circa 200 metri dall'Hotel. Da segnalare il supermercato Roni Abc, che addirittura è aperto 24h su 24. La ciliegina su questa meravigliosa torta, infine, è stato l'accesso gratuito ed illimitato alla zona wellness, composta da palestra e spa. Credetemi non ha davvero prezzo, dopo una giornata in giro per la città con una temperatura di -6 gradi, poter rientrare in albergo e godersi 2 ore nel caldo di un idromassaggio, bagno turco e sauna, tutto rigorosamente gratuitamente e a due piani dal vostro appartamento. Ho consigliato di soggiornare al City Gardens anche a degli amici che visiteranno Budapest nel mese di Febbraio, ma io stesso ritornerò in questa struttura non appena avrò occsasione di visitare di nuovo questa bellissima città. Soggiorno davvero indimenticabile!!!! Grazie.

hotel very central for touring Budapest.
we were 3 girlfiends meeting up for a getaway in Budapest. We had a wonderful time touring around, and used the Hop on, Hop Off 2 day ticket which included a boat trip on the Danube. It was a great way to see the city.

First choice for wellness or nightlife
Great appartment with great wellness area. Local area is great for eating or nightlife. Very close to Oktogon, from where you can easily reach any part of the city with public transport.

Excellent on a budget!
This review is in mind that I went on a girly sightseeing holiday and not a partying one! This hotel is excellent if you are looking for a budget place to stay that still has class. It's very modern, the spa facilities are excellent and clean, and the staff are really lovely. If it wasn't for one gentleman on reception recommending places to go we wouldn't have seen half the wonders of Budapest that we did. One of the days we spent in their spa and had each had massages, which was beyond excellent and at a brilliantly cheap price. The flat itself is very spacious, warm and basically has everything you need. They clean it every day leave enough of everything e.g towels. You get above and beyond what you pay for in terms of this. The only downsides are the location. Although in the centre of Budapest and a close walk to everything, the hotel entrance itself is on a dark back Street which was hard to initially find and sometimes intimidating, especially in the evening, as there were a lot of people just standing around and homeless on the street. Also, bring earplugs - it is directly above a club that plays quite horrific 'Grime' music until 12pm every night, and right beside a backpackers hostel who liked to get drunk and howl songs until 3am. But if that's the sort of thing you'd enjoy then it's cracking!

Brilliant! Comfortable, affordable and friendly.
Could not fault this hotel whatsoever! The receptionists were so friendly and helpful, offering a fast check in and out service and booking us a taxi to the airport. Although other reviews I read complained about noise from th street there was hardly any and certainly not enough to keep you up at night! The room had a real wow factor, very comfortable and spacious with great self-catering facilities. The bathroom and bedroom were clean, comfortable and even slightly luxurious! Brilliant hotel in a lively area, in a very central location.

Om in Boedapest vanuit dit apartement op stap te gaan is super fijn. Het appartement is ruim en heeft beneden verschillende voorzieningen. In de buurt zijn veel restaurantjes en cafeetjes. De parkeergarage is handig als je met de auto komt.

Do not expect service
Our family went here for two days during our visit to Budapest. When we arrive they tell us that due to maintenance we have to move rooms between the days we are staying. We got in to our first room that smelled terrible it was like moist or fungus. We decided to not stay in the room, and went out. When we came back the door to our room was unlocked. I went in to the bathroom which had been used by someone. How do I know? They had not flushed. I went to the reception, and asked if someone had been in our room. Yes, they had given our key to someone by mistake. We moved to the new room, and the hotel offered to move our stuff we declined. When we came to the new room there were several broken things such as wardrobe, safe and the shower. The shower let all the water out on to the floor without any drain. There was no bed ware for our children. In this room no minibar, but that was going to be fixed by the reception. It was never fixed. The Pool area was to be used free of charge, it was being renovated. You had to change in the room, and then you could go down, and have a swim. At the checkout all of a sudden they no longer accept credit card, and now they only accepted cash. I said that is not possible, and all of a sudden they changed their minds. I asked for compensation in form of two water bottles we had consumed, but no that was not possible. So overall a lot of problems, and no compensation.
