My room was noisy due to it being next to the service lift shaft and with some kind of airconditioning duct running vertically in the corner of the room. I asked for another room, but they were full booked. Was staying here on business with a colleague who was also unhappy with her room as the toilet was filthy with brown stains in it. The staff were helpful in trying to find us another hotel to stay in but the whole of Cardiff was booked up due to a concert. So we had no choice. I was ok to compromise with a stained toilet and she was ok to put up with the noise so we swapped rooms. However in the morning, my shower had no hot water as the thermostatic shower valve was broken. So I had to have a cold shower.
I've been staying in this hotel for a number of years and since the asylum seekers have been here and since left (I think) it is really run down. I expect the hotel didn't bother cleaning their rooms very often and didn't attend to things breaking, so the whole place is a mess now. The aircon system in all the rooms I've stayed in is broken, so you cannot cool or heat your room. I have complained every time I've stayed and they promise to send someone to fix it, but that never happens.
I requested a refund given this most recent horrible stay, but was stonewalled by the manager, so that's the final straw. Never again.
