We've got the lowdown on how to make your journey as enjoyable as possible. Follow our insider tips and you'll be speeding through the airport and discovering Andrews in no time at all. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Firstly, and most importantly, pack your passport, important documents, bank cards and vital medications. Next, you'll want some entertainment to while away the time. A juicy novel and a tablet filled with your favorite movies are good options. If you hope to take a quick nap, a quality neck pillow and a pair of earplugs will also come in handy. Finally, find room for a toothbrush and some deodorant so you'll touchdown looking fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) won't be allowed on. Sharp or pointed objects, like a pocket knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosol cans, flares and fuels, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- You'll want to go for comfort over style. Prepare for changes in cabin temperature by dressing in layers, and pick closed-toe, flat footwear like slip-ons.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by extended periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Try to walk around the cabin or do some gentle exercises in your seat to promote better circulation.
