Depending on where you're coming from, your trip to Calliaqua could be simple and straightforward or it could go on forever. We've rounded up some tips that will help you start your next great adventure on a positive note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be a cruisy experience if you bring the right things. First things first, you'll need basic toiletries, such as a toothbrush and hairbrush, a spare set of clothes and a good read. Next, make room in your bag for your mobile phone, a charger, any vital medications and maybe a blow-up neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, don't forget to bring your passport, travel documents and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by security. Sharp or pointed objects, like your precious Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, bleaching agents and poisons, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- The main aim is to make yourself as comfortable as possible. Dress in loose, breathable clothing and bring a jacket in case it gets cool. Opt for flat, well-fitting shoes as it's possible that your feet and ankles will swell a little during the journey. Leave the stilettos and heavy boots in your checked baggage.
- Unfortunately, a risk of long flights is developing deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by extended periods of inactivity. To prevent this, make the most of every opportunity to stretch your legs and walk around the cabin. Compression tights and socks are another great idea to help minimize this risk.
