Depending on where you're coming from, your journey to Colstrip could be a piece of cake or it could go on forever. We've put together some tips that will help you start your next big adventure on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First, pack in your passport, travel documents, wallet and daily medications. Next, you'll want some extra in-flight entertainment to help pass the time. A juicy novel and a phone crammed with your favorite shows are some fantastic options. If you hope to catch a few z's, a neck pillow and some earplugs will also be useful. Finally, leave space for a few toiletry items so you'll hop off the plane looking and feeling fresh.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Double-check that you don't have a Swiss Army knife lurking in the bottom of your carry-on luggage. Other prohibited items include flammable or explosive substances, such as fuel and fireworks, and liquids and gels in containers larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an airplane are no place for a fashion parade. Wear layers and opt for shoes that are closed-toe, flat and easy to take on and off.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It's the result of blood clots forming due to poor circulation, so do some gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression tights or socks.
