Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you're prepared. We've made a list of handy tips that will help get your Labuan escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Firstly, and most importantly, pack in your passport, important documents, cash and daily medications. Next, you'll want some in-flight entertainment to help pass the time. A thrilling novel and a laptop filled with your favorite shows are always good options. If you intend to take a short nap, a comfy neck pillow and a pair of earplugs will also come in handy. Finally, leave space for a toothbrush and some facial wipes to ensure you arrive at your destination looking and feeling fresh.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by security. Sharp or pointed objects, like a pocket knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, bleaching agents and fireworks, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim is to be as comfortable as you can. Choose a pair of slip-on shoes, dress in loose, natural-fiber clothing and remember to take a pullover in case you get chilly in the cabin.
- The result of prolonged periods of inactivity, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clot condition that can affect some passengers during long-distance flights. Reduce the risks by staying hydrated, keeping your ankles and legs moving and wearing compression socks or tights.
