We've got the lowdown on how to make your flight as pain-free as possible. Follow our top tips and you'll be speeding through airport security and having a ball in Olberga before you know it.What to pack in your hand luggage:
- The secret to having a worry-free flight experience is to be prepared. So, let's start with the essentials: passport, travel documents, credit cards and vital medications. Next, bring on board items that'll help pass the time, like some electronic devices or a good read. It's also a wise idea to bring your chargers, a comfy neck pillow and a pair of headphones. Finally, be sure to toss in toiletry items like a toothbrush, lip balm and a clean T-shirt.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) won't be allowed on. Sharp objects, like your treasured Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and fireworks, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- The long, narrow aisles of an aircraft are no fashion runway. Layer up with comfortable clothing and take a sweater as it tends to get cool in the cabin. Enclosed, flat shoes are also a good idea.
- Unfortunately, a risk of long-distance flying is developing deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity. To avoid this, take every opportunity to walk around the cabin and stretch your legs. Compression socks and tights are also a great idea to help minimize this risk.
