We've got the lowdown on how to make your flight as pain-free as possible. Follow our tips and you'll be zooming through the airport and discovering Savra in no time at all. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a stress-free experience if you carry the right gear. First of all you'll need basic toiletries, such as lip balm and hand cream, a spare pair of socks and a good read. Secondly, find a spot in your bag for your phone, tablet and chargers, your medications and maybe a quality neck pillow too. Lastly, don't forget to take your passport, travel papers and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated. Pointed or sharp objects, like your Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, flares and fireworks, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- The narrow aisles of your plane are no fashion runway. Layer yourself up with comfortable clothes and remember to take a cardigan as it can get chilly in the cabin on long-haul flights. Flat, slightly roomy shoes are also a sensible choice.
- Unfortunately, one risk of long flights is developing deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity. To avoid this, take every opportunity to walk around the cabin and stretch your legs. Compression tights and socks are another easy way to help reduce this risk.
