We've got the lowdown on how to make your flight a stress-free experience. Follow our tips and you'll be cruising through airport security and exploring Tashla in no time at all. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a comfortable experience if you carry the right gear. Firstly, you'll want a few basic toiletries, such as a toothbrush and lip balm, a fresh set of clothes and a good novel. Secondly, make room in your bag for your electronic devices, chargers, your medications and perhaps a cozy neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, be sure to bring your passport, travel docs and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by security. Pointed or sharp objects, like your trusty Swiss Army knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as spray paint, flares and gasoline, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your goal here is to be as comfortable as you can. Layer yourself up in breathable clothing and take a jacket just in case you get chilly. Always go with flat, slightly roomy shoes as your feet may swell a little during the journey. Leave the high heels and chunky boots in your checked baggage.
- You've probably heard about DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clotting condition caused by reduced mobility or inactivity. There's lots you can do to lower your risk. Wear a good-quality pair of compression tights or socks, stay hydrated and remember to keep your legs and feet moving. Do a lap or two of the cabin or try out some exercises in your seat.
