Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a seamless experience if you're well prepared. Check out these top travel tips that will help get your Taytsy vacation started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a comfortable experience if you've got all the right stuff. Firstly, you'll want a few basic toiletries, such as a toothbrush and hairbrush, a clean set of clothes and a magazine or two. Secondly, find a spot in your carry-on bag for your electronic devices, chargers, any vital medications and maybe a blow-up neck pillow as well. Lastly, remember to bring your passport, travel papers and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) won't be allowed on. Sharp objects, like your precious pocket knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as spray paint, flares and strong acids, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your goal here is to be as comfortable as possible. Dress in loose, breathable clothing and remember to pack a pullover in case it gets cool in the cabin. Always go with flat, well-fitting shoes as your feet may swell a little during the journey. Leave the high heels and chunky boots in your checked baggage.
- The condition by the name of DVT (deep vein thrombosis) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It's the result of blood clots forming due to inactivity and poor circulation. Walking around the cabin and doing regular foot and leg exercises in your seat helps to prevent this from happening. Wearing a pair of compression socks or tights may also help.
