Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you've prepared well. We've made a list of handy hints that will get your Willow Bunch vacation started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Traveling on a plane can be a stress-free experience if you take the right things. Firstly, you'll want a few basic toiletries, such as lip balm and hand cream, a clean set of clothes and a good book. Secondly, leave space in your hand luggage for your laptop, a charger, your medications and maybe a neck pillow as well. Lastly, be sure to bring your passport, travel papers and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Double-check that you don't have sharp or pointed objects hiding in one of the zippers of your hand luggage. Other restricted items include flammable or explosive goods, such as aerosol cans and fuel, and gels and liquids in containers with a capacity of more than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an aircraft are not the best place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfortable clothing and pack a cardigan as it tends to get cool inside the cabin. Slightly roomy, flat shoes are always a good choice too.
- The result of sustained periods of inactivity, DVT (deep vein thrombosis) is a serious condition that can affect some passengers during long flights. But the good news is there are ways to significantly reduce your risk of developing it. Stay well hydrated, get up and walk around the cabin as often as possible and wear compression socks or tights.
