Property advertises as a resort, but there only pool was under repairs due to some leaks. What was extremely disappointing is that they did not warn us about the broken pool. This was extremely selfish, as reservation clearly had indicated we are arriving with young children.

I was the only guest as far as I could tell, and although a nice place the hotel is a little basic, simple things in design of place could have so much better, the Thai lady owner is keen to make as much profit as possible, which kind of hurts the place, the swimming pool is excellent, and although it’s out the way it’s only a ten minute stroll to town bars lotus shop and restaurants

Close to Laos border.

Very nice place to stay after crossing from Laos close to border 100bht ride in cab. Very spacious room with lovely 4 poster bed very comfy great bathroom. Extremely friendly staff and owners. Meal prepared on arrival in restaurant accompanied by guitarist. Breakfast more than adequate. Great swimming pool. Highly recommended.

Very large grounds surrounded by trees and greenery at the end of a long road bordering the Mekong River. Very nice pool. Quiet setting. My bed pillow were very nice; not hard like typical beds in Thailand. Only negative was there were no staff available who spoke any English, possibly because it was Songkran?

The size of the saltwater pool...the view from our second floor balcony down to the pool, the huge breakfast ( and choices), the dinner choices of Thai food, the fab view from other side of our balcony of the Mekong River in the distance, the beautiful and comfortable 4 poster bed, most of all, the owners John amd Jamm who made our 3 night stay memorable...treated us like family, showed us around, invited me to market and to assist in making our dinner( i love to cook). We love to cycle and did find the onsite free bikes adequate to get to the main part of Chiang Khong but wanted more comfortable bikes so John not only contacted a bike rental in town, he brought us to the shop in his truck so that we could bring the bikes back in order to get biking in the morning( rental in town only 100baht each...equiv to $4.00 Canadian each for 24 hrs). Biked beyond their property into countryside, then to town and along the Mekong River. If ever back to Thailand, would absolutely stay with them again.

Great for the price we paid

We got a really good deal for a double room. Make sure to check several booking sites (Agoda, Expedia etc) as they often vary in price. The room was clean and in great condition. The pool area was really nice too. We paid for breakfast online and seemed to be the only ones who did. We got coffee, bread and eggs which was ok. They didn't seem to be ready for breakfast in the morning, perhaps because we were the only guests who ordered. The location was ok for us but I would recommend using their bikes or renting a scooter to get into town.

Quiet, good quality hotel

Lovely hotel a little way out of town, in a quiet location, so very relaxing. Lovely pool area with pool towels & loungers provided. Evening meals very good, breakfasts were ok but could be a little better organised. All staff were very friendly & helpful. Well worth staying here en route to Laos as very handy for border crossing.

The hotel manager/owner John is the best ever! He went beyond his way to make us enjoy our stay! The hotel is lovely with an incredible pool. Also he has nice dogs to keep you company!

We only stayed at the Tara for one night on our wy to Laos. However, this lovely, peaceful resort hotel was perfect and we wouldn't hesitate to stay longer under different circumstances. John was an excellent host and the staff was friendly and provided very good service. The pool was refreshing, the beds comfortable and the food very tasty and reasonably priced.

リゾートホテルと考えてはいけません

ホテルの名前やプールの写真を見るとリゾートホテルですが、一般のリゾートホテルと考えて選択すると、期待を裏切られると思います。 ラオスへの陸路越境のために、その前日（1月下旬）に宿泊しました。メコン川のスローボートが発着する対岸のラオスのファイサーイには適当なホテルが見つからず、ラオスへの出入国事務所がある友好橋に近いということで、このホテルを選びました。 オーナーが西洋人（出身は聞きそびれました）で、英語を話せるのはこのオーナーだけです。私はチェンライからプライベートツアーでこのホテルまで送っていただき、現地のガイドが一緒でしたので問題なかったのですが、到着したときに、このオーナーが不在だと困ると思います。 近隣を歩いてみましたが、周りは似たようなホテルが1軒と民家ばかりで、レストラン（食堂と呼ぶべき）は現地の人が使うローカル色の極めて強い一店だけでした。旅行者が利用するのは厳しいと感じます。 ホテルにレストランが併設されておりますが、到着時にメニューを見せられて、夕食と朝食を選択するように促されました。夕食の時間も18時30分にしてほしいと言われ、その時間にレストランに行きましたら、オーダーした料理がテーブルにすでに置かれておりました。レストランで食事をしたのは私たち夫婦だけで、照明は私たちが座ったテーブルの上だけ点灯しており、少し寂しい感じです。シェフは到着時に相手をしていただいた現地のおばちゃんで、料理の単価は安いものの味は良かったです。 部屋はプールに面しておりますが、入り口が全面ガラスのスライドドアですので、部屋の中が外からが丸見えで、カーテンをしておかなければなりません。タオル以外のアメニティはありません。セーフティーボックスもありません。シャワーはついておりますが、電気ヒータで温めるお湯は、シャワーというよりミストに近いです。 少々否定的な感想を並べてしまいましたが、朝食付きで1泊4000円足らずでしたので、あまり多くを望むべきではなく、コストパーフォーマンス的にはよろしいと思います。 オーナーの西洋人はフレンドリーで、何かと話しかけていただけますし、翌朝は友好橋まで彼の車（5人乗りのピックアップトラック）で連れて行っていただきました（2人で200バーツ）。友好橋までは15分程度で到着しました。

Lovely people, lovely place

Great overnight stay on way to the slow boat to Luang prabang. Very congenial hosts, lovely pool and setting. Not much around but had a great night with the owner. Definite return for me if doing the same trip.

Peaceful, quiet hotel with good hosts and a nice pool. Hosts asked us what we wanted for breakfast and it was delicious! CK is a quiet town so more English language tv channels would be a bonus.

Great stay.

We spent 2 nights at Siam Tara resort. The room was great, and there is a nice pool. We had two basic breakfasts there, and good coffee was served. The owner provided great advice and arranged for a rental car for us. It’s a short Tuk Tuk into town. It was quiet at the hotel when we were there.

Clean, comfortable stay outside of town.

Located on the outskirts of town you will need your own transportation although they also rent motorbikes. The resort itself is well kept and immaculate, the owner's wife cooks spectacular Thai food on demand and there is a great salt water pool. Very quiet, good internet and the owner is a biker and quite knowledgeable about the area. A downright steal for the price, highly recommended

Mooi zwembad, maar afgelegen.

Wij waren tevreden over de kamer en het zwembad, maar hebben geen schoonmaakservice gekregen in drie dagen en om schone handdoeken moesten wij vragen. Omdat het afgelegen ligt zouden goede fietsen met licht heel fijn zijn. Ook ontbrak de beloofde waterkoker en koffie.

A real find in Chiang Khong

A very comfortable hotel outside of town but on the river. Beautiful salt water pool, largish rooms with soft beds and quality bed linens. Our first night there was a big group that was drunk and noisy but the second night was quiet and serene. The location is quiet and private, the hosts attentive and the wife cooks gourmet Thai cuisine on order, the place is worth trying for the food alone. An excellent value with Western style amenities.

Prima ruime familiekamer

Fijne ruime villa met 2 slaapkamers en badkamers. In ruim opgezet tuin. Wat gedateerd maar onderhouden. Lekker groot zwembad. De Thaise eigenaresse kan heel goed koken en ook een ruim ontbijt! Landelijk gelegen en iets uit het centrum.
