"Whilst there are elements of faded grandeur to The Imperial it has done its best to keep up with the times. The common areas of the hotel are simply splendid: the wide staircases, the spacious corridors, the breakfast and dining areas, the bar, and the magnificent views of the coastline and the bay. The hotel benefits from being at the edge of town and is appreciably quieter than the town centre. It was great being able to linger over breakfast. The chef and their staff have done well to provide lots of vegetarian and vegan food as well as more traditional meaty fare. It was disappointing to only get bottled water and biscuits on one of or three days stay here, and it took three calls to get an ironing board to the room. That apart, a delightful and restful stay whole the UK was struggling with a heatwave."
