“I admittedly arrived at a busy time and The Bear was reportedly chronically short of staff. Whilst the room and its cleanliness was excellent, the human side was somewhat chaotic. I queued twice for approx. 15 mins in total only to be told, in regard to ordering food, that the chef was very busy and not feeling well. I could not order any food and whilst sickness is unavoidable no decision was made to stop food orders for the evening. That lack of a decision was the problem and frustrating. I...

“Clean and spacious room, sitting by the fire in the bar is lovely. Breakfast was delicious, however the room was freezing, the amazing staff member serving breakfast did turn on the heating but it didn't help much. ”

“This is a unique little inn in the middle of the country. It was a fun stay, even though we only stayed overnight as we were traveling from Scotland highlands to London. The beds were fine, not spectacular. The bathrooms were clean and the shower pressure was amazing! The only thing I have to complain about is that the staff opened the windows and even though we shut them right away, I was still bitten up by midgies all night.”
