The room was great, valet parking was a breeze, the breakfast and happy hour amenities were unbeatable, and the location directly on the Riverwalk in the heart of the action was the icing on the cake. Will absolutely be staying here again and every time we visit San Antonio."

"I recently stayed at The Menger Hotel in San Antonio, and unfortunately, my experience was far below expectations. Given the huge price point, I expected a comfortable stay, but the property feels extremely outdated and falls short of even basic mid-segment hotel standards. Several significant issues negatively impacted my visit: Unjustified High Costs & Parking Fees: The nightly rate is incredibly high for the quality of the hotel. To make matters worse, there is no included parking. I was charged an additional, exorbitant fee of $60 just for overnight parking. Poor Room Conditions: The air conditioning in my room was not working properly, making for a very uncomfortable and frustrating environment. Lack of Basic Amenities: Despite the high cost of the room, there is no complimentary breakfast offered. Furthermore, there was no microwave in the room, which is a standard convenience at most modern hotels. Unhelpful Customer Service: The level of hospitality was incredibly disappointing. I received zero assistance from the hotel staff when I needed it, making me feel completely unsupported as a guest. Overall, the combination of a huge price tag, extra parking fees, lack of modern comforts, malfunctioning climate control, and indifferent service made for a very poor value. I would not recommend this hotel to fellow travelers expecting standard amenities and reliable customer service."

"I’ve stayed at this hotel many times before it was bought out by Wyndham and there were a lot of changes that weren’t for the better. For one, the staff has changed. The prior staff was warm and welcoming and I knew them well from how much I stayed there. This time, the guy working the front desk was young and didn’t seem interested in his job. He was usually on his phone between talking to guests and did the bare minimum. The breakfast also changed. It was just okay, but not great whereas I loved the breakfast before. They also took away the snack/drink time in the afternoon that I loved. The hotel itself still looks exactly the same, but is now lacking in the things that made it worth the stay before."

"My stay at La Quinta in San Antonio was disappointing overall. The room felt quite outdated, with scratched and worn furniture, an old stained carpet, and a mattress that seemed heavily used. The sheets also did not appear very clean, with visible stains and yellowing. The bathroom sink and shower showed significant wear and staining from age as well. Although the hotel is advertised as being near the Riverwalk and convention center, it was still a longer walk than I expected. Based on my experience, I would not choose to stay here again."

"It was a nice stay. We liked our balcony room even though it was pretty loud near the highway. The bed was comfortable and staff was very nice. There were a couple of maintenance items ( outside light didn’t work and the bedside lamp kept going off) but they sent someone right away to fix them. The breakfast was good but offered very little items for people who try to eat healthy. There wasn’t a lot I could eat. No fruit or gluten free items. I would suggest that, but it’s ok. Just be sure to go early because they won’t replenish anything with only 15 minutes left.. It was really great that they have a soda machine available all the time! That’s a wonderful amenity. We don’t drink a lot of soda but it was so nice to have when you need a little “treat”. And water and ice available was great too! The location to the airport is so perfect. We come often to see family and the easy airport access and location to family keeps us coming back. I would recommend this hotel."
