If this was my first stay at Hayfield, the review would probably be better. Since my last visit, Hayfield has shrunk the once majestic reception area to squeeze as many $500 a night guests in as they can. The hotel is now extremely crowded (if you do plan to stay there, book meal reservations a week in advance now). The extra help they’ve had to hire in order to accommodate the huge number of guests are significantly less polished and less experienced. No one picked up our room our entire stay and someone would come banging on our door (not using the bell) after 9pm offering turn down service-but we would already be in bed. The food is still good- at least what we could get on the room service menu, which is just a few items. The pool and spa were crowded and no longer the tranquil oasis I remember. Everything was packed- the parlor, parking lot, every landing, and especially downstairs. With the renovations, Hayfield has taken on a feel more of an outdated Hilton instead of the timeless institution it once was. A shame. That being said, Noel was wonderful and went above and beyond. Didn’t get to see Frank this visit.

Great experience
Wonderful experience! The Manor was beautiful & cozy feeling. The room was amazing & so was the bathroom. Everything was super well maintained & very clean. Highly recommend!

An Irish Gem.
We treated ourselves to a fancy hotel for our anniversary and it was great. This was an expensive two days, but I never once thought it wasn’t worth it. The place is beautiful. It has character and charm. The staff is wonderful m. It has two fantastic restaurants and a wonderful bar, lovely courtyard for an afternoon drink.

Superb hotel from start to finish, stayed 3 nights, location is just 20 mins walk from the centre. fast painless check in, lovely room, quality breakfast but the main thing that makes this hotel superb is the staff all great, a special thanks to Frank (front of house) and all the lads behind the bar that made the stay extra special. We will be returning

The actual property is lovely. Service however was lacking by very young staff for a hotel charging nearly $900 a night. This was matched w the staff in the restaurant who forgot our wine until asked and I also had a hair in my salad. We woke up to construction right outside our room that was not indicated for the property. Hotel as seen in photos but experience was lacking and not accommodated for when pointed out.

Really nice property with Spa facilities and pool. Two restaurants and bar that are popular with locals. Hotel popular with American tourists also. David the barman particular highlight of staff however service levels probably not as good as you’d expect at this level (maybe Covid as interesting mix of local and foreign staff - some very attentive, others not that bothered). Had a few issues (more than we’d expect) - taxi booked at wrong time to airport, breakfast order wrong, drinks order wrong, request items forgotten etc - all in themselves minor but added up to spoil the quality level we were expecting. Rooms are great, showers particularly good. Common areas starting to get tired, chairs lining and brocade falling off, curtains ripped, quite dusty etc. Food is good but not great and skip breakfast and head into Cork itself as there are better breakfasts around 10-15 mins walk away (Spitjack in particular). On the whole a good experience but needs some attention to staff, food and a spring clean/ repair to be worth the price point to be honest. Despite that probably still the best place to stay in Cork.

The Hayfield Manor Hotel is not a typical corporate hotel, but a step back towards a more genteel period of more personalized service in an intimate setting with antique furnishings, well kept grounds with a hint of modernity like flat screen televisions. The staff honestly tries to meet the needs of the guests and coming off the pandemic, but there were some minor lapses that is expected until the newer staff gain additional experience working with the guests. Overall, a very good experience.

Hayfield Manor is fabulous - gorgeous grounds, lobby area and food in restaurant is excellent I was really disappointed however with the superior room, it was not like the pictures on the website, room 237 and it was extremely expensive so I was not very happy with it.

The welcome from the Reception Staff was so warm. The room was fabulous and very clean. We had three dinners at Perrotts and Orchids restaurants and they were first rate. The whole stay was so fantastic and the staff there are especially helpful, and friendly.

Amazing as Usual
This hotel never disappoints. From the moment you walk in the door it is just the best. The staff are just fantastic everyone of them, the rooms are spacious, clean and beds comfortable. never any issues at all. Food in Perrots is just delicious - especially the Duck - but have never had a meal that wasn't amazing. Breakfasts are beautiful with whatever you want - never a problem. Just a lovely vibe about the place. can't wait to return. The only small gripe I would have which is down to the current covid situation at the moment is the lounge area and Sauna are out of action at present so just the pool and the outdoor jacuzzi - but if you don't swim not really anywhere to lie around. Other than that I would not want to stay anywhere else in Cork City.
