“The setting is beautiful, with a lap pool and pond adjacent. Our room had a kitchenette, so helpful as the place is 3 km from town. Pedro and his furry friends are all fabulous.”

“We went a little off-season and not many were there. The place is located in the countryside with lovely surroundings. The inital plan was to go into the little town of Cercal for dinner in elthe evening, but we changed our plans and stayed for dinner at Matinha instead. That was a good decision... the food was very nice and typical rustic traditional Portuguese food. Loved it. Everyone was super helpful and serviceminded. It was a great stay.”

“The pool was closed and has been for some time as they are rebuilding it. This was not advertised when booking nor was it communicated to us afterwards. Bike hire and meals also need to be arranged the day before , again this wasn't communicated to us when booking or when speaking to the reception on the phone prior to arriving. It's a lovely village but I think it's not ok to advertise facilities that aren't available as this was a big reason why we chose it. I would definitely go again though...

“Monica and her staff are wonderful, the property is beautiful, quiet and peaceful. Breakfast is delicious and generous. For us, after 3.5 weeks of busy travel this was a perfect location to chill. We hung out during the day at the beaches, returned to shower and go back to town for dinner. It’s only 12 min to town/beach. Great place to stay, highly recommend!”
