“Starting with the room: The room was great. There was a great view of the lake from the window and everything was as advertised. The breakfast was amazing. I loved having the pancakes both days. The restaurant at other times was also good and there was a complimentary beer tasting for the guests. The staff were amazingly nice. I really liked the guy that checked us in. “Pros : great location, delicious breakfast, beautiful grounds with plantations. Cons cabins have no insulation , therefore you can hear everything from the outside. Earplugs is must to have for better sleep. ”

“I was pleasantly surprised, the photos online were pretty but once we got there the views were breathtaking. We took so many pictures of the volcano and the lake but still could not capture the beauty this location offers. The rooms and property were clean, the staff was friendly and helpful. My favorite part was coming back to our room to find a new animal crafted with towels everyday, we were there for 8 days, I thought they'd run out of ways to fold the towels but they didn't. “Before I check in they didn’t tell me that hotel doesn’t have hot water, after check in they told me that system is broke and no hot water until 8 pm but I was there 4 days I had to take shower with cold water and never had hot water several times I complained but always they had a excuse ”

“The Trapp Family Lodge is in a beautiful location surrounded by nature. Delicious home cooked breakfast, and the restaurant was well priced and great food. The staff were always smiling and very friendly. Made us feel right at home.”

“The grounds are beautiful and the pool is warm and nicely maintained. However, this is Costa Rica and you need to be aware of a few things....There will be bugs. In fact the property makes you sign a release stating you will not hold them liable for bug bites. Our room was acceptable clean (floor mopped, beds made, etc) but the sheets were stained, the bathroom and bedroom mirrors were smeared, there was sand on the floor and there were a few spiders and ants.”
