From start to finish this was a positive stay. At check-in, the desk clerk was very friendly and attentive. The location has been around for a while and while the desk area and lobby floors have been updated, the lobby furniture has seen some better days. A very nice touch is that the management has added what may be personal items including ornate chests, tables and a display case with many decorative items. The room that I stayed in had been remolded. Don't think plush luxury, think stark, clean lines, like Ikea. Nothing frilly just an exceptionally clean room with a laminate floor, a clean and crisply made platform bed, great water pressure with plenty of towels, a well working air conditioner (it's 100 degrees outside!), a flat-screen at the desk area, larger-than-mini refrigerator, microwave, and a small work table. Nothing frilly means there was no hair dryer, no bedside lamps (though there are sconces on the wall on each side), and an automatic coffee machine in the lobby for the morning. After getting used to the starkness of the room, it felt comfortable, uncluttered and something I rather liked. When I'm traveling for business, I don't need the extras like a full breakfast bar, pool, gym, dog park, restaurant, etc. I'm looking for a clean and comfortable room, at a good price where I can work and feel safe. If traveling near Springfield, I would absolutely stay at this Motel 6 again.
