We walked in to check in and the folks were having a fight and ignored us. We did not stay and left
After driving 4 hours to get to the so-called heritage inn hotel in Orange City, what we found was unreal, property is uncared-for, dirty, roaches in the room the room was nothing at all like the pictures that they show on the website for their rooms. The mattresses were heavily soiled the bathroom light was dim it was roaches crawling around, dogs barking, the room next to the room that they had for us when we got there was right next door to a couple that have five kids.
The hallway in the second-floor was cluttered with junk old, mattresses, pieces of old furniture toys.. disgusting!
WE WILL NEVER BOOK THERE AGAIN!..SEEMS LIKE A DRUG HOUSE AS WELL.. it's a total shame because this is a historical building and yet it's not being cared-for. DONT WASTE YOUR $$ HERE!..

It was cool saying in a very old historic building with lots of antiques in it. B beyond that there isn't a whole lot to say about it. I got what I paid for which wasn't a lot at all So I was pleased
We have stayed at The Heritage Inn of Orange City since APR/2021. Usually for just overnight to have a stay-cay. Miss Jane the property manager is always so friendly, makes us feel like we are out-of-town family members and is very knowledgeable about local venues. Both sets of our parents (and all of my family) have predeceased us and even tho' we're both retired veterans (23 yrs and 19 yrs of service) and not very sentimental individuals? Having an intangible benefit such as "on leave at home with the folks" feeling along with clean accommodations, instant on call remedy to any lil snafu and always professional, courteous run lodging makes this a favorite when able to make a reservation. Kudos!!

The property is historic and as such needs constant repairs and upgrades. The staff there is amazing and goes above what is expected in every way. The web description of our room was not in anyway accurate. We reserved an accessible room with a king bed and a fold out sofa. The bathroom had zero grab bars, no handicapped seat, no hand held shower. It had a traditional tub and shower combo. The person in the wheelchair just skipped showering. The fold out sofa bed did not exist. Three large women shared a king bed for the evening. On the bright side our bedding appeared very clean. I would stay at this hotel again in the future but not if I were handicapped.
It’s an old post office that has been turned into a museum with efficiency rooms above it. The there is no one that mans the front desk, it’s run down and smells like marijuana as soon as you walk in. It is more like a low income apartment building then a hotel. Not recommend for single women staying alone.
I like the theme of the hotel with all the old artifacts and pictures. However, I only had hot water in the shower and several roaches in the bathroom. Although it is a non-smoking facility. My room smelled like a tobacco smoke barn and the remote to the TV did not work.

An old hotel c rough characters about, yet kind and thoughful. Folks talking loud outside our door, but not at sleeping time. Was quiet through the night. NO HOT WATER in the morning. Nobody around at check out to tell.
It's a former plantation and post office (with a small postal museum) which was cool, but now is very run down and in need of a full restoration. Bed was new and comfy. T.V. got Zero out of 3 channels.
There was poop on the toilet. We were supposed to have a queen bed it was full size. It was cold in the room. All they provided was a small heater. Was not happy at all. Will check other sites not expedia. The bed was very uncomfortable and got no sleep. People running up the stairs all night. Will not go back
1876 Heritage Inn needs to update their website. There is not a restaurant and bar at this establishment. The Inn was very inexpensive. It is very run down and in need of a lot of TLC. It was quiet and it suited my purposes.
They did not have a room for me even though I booked through yall
Gave them my conformation # didnnt help
The people at check in were very sceking looking. The motel smelled old and mildewy
Glad I had to go somewhere else
