Vacation Rentals in New Forest District

"The hotel lovely & is in a lovely area with nice grounds & staff were very helpful & friendly. But… Being a cancer patient I get very hot & cold so always book a room with air conditioning ( we even have it home !) The air conditioning in the room was being refurbished & I was not told this until I couldn’t find the remote control. We had a fan & had to leave the window open so not a good sleep due to noise outside & being hot. So we went to the spa, pool was to cold for me so Hot tub it was.. no that wasn’t even bath temperature. The sauna / steam rooms were tiny 4 people max & they were full. So we left. Dinner, 4 restaurants I think & Only offered a table at one of the restaurants ( Thai ) which was very nice. Continental Breakfast was ok & wasn’t busy & fancied cooked food, but waited 45 minutes for eggs on toast ! Coffee ran out & no staff to be seen. So we left.. My wife liked the place so maybe it’s just me being ill with lack of patience & wanting everything to be perfect !!!"

"Great location, 20 min drive Southampton and from New Forest for walks. Lovely old pub, beautifully clean and welcoming. We ate in the garden and enjoyed our Caesar salad and burgers. Accommodation is in separate thatched building to one side of the pub and was quiet. Twin room (2 single beds) was huge with large walk-in shower. Breakfast cooked to order plus cereals, pastries etc on buffet. Coffee brought to our table. Staff all friendly and helpful. Will stay again. Only slight negative was that we were woken by light around the curtains early in the morning. Thanks."

"Lovely spacious room for my family of 4. Clean, ample towels, and bedding. General areas all clean, staff were very pleasant and helpful. Parking was easy and onsite, and it's great how close you are walking distance into Lyndhurst high street. Breakfast was very nice and had plenty of choice. Huge thanks! "

"I still love the hotel and its location. The staff are very welcoming and helpful. The one thing that lets the hotel down is the vast amount of dogs staying. I love dogs, but when you only have a weekend away, to hear a dog howling next door isn’t very relaxing. I think it great people can take their pets with them but maybe there should be a limit of the amount allowed as it appears to have increased quite a lot over the years. The room was lovely and clean, but we ran out of toilet paper and had no hand towels on our second day. All of which I’m certain would have been rectified immediately had a asked! Overall well worth a visit. Thank you"

"Outstanding! An exceptional hotel, wonderful facilities, great food and most importantly incredible staff. Nothing was too much trouble to get and provide to us. Beautiful grounds well maintained and very peaceful and relaxing. Will definitely stay again."
