There was nothing in the description on which our booking was based that said anything about a view with scaffolding. They said we had been notified of that after our booking but we received nothing. “I had a very comfortable stay and enjoyed my stay. I booked a single room and would say it was a small double. Well furnished with good ensuite facilities. The hotel was clean and well managed, corridors to the rooms was a little tired in places, but public areas and bedrooms were immaculate. “Beautiful property. We stayed in the Beach House which was child-friendly. Staff were great and so were the facilities. Only issue was the children’s pool was out of service but we were able to use the main pool at Saltmoore House. Breakfast was amazing too.”

“Was very disappointed with the cleanliness of not just the hotel but the pub attached also. The toilets in the pub were disgusting, with no hand soap the whole 4 days of our stay. The whole place looked very worn & tired. I have know idea how on earth it’s classed as 4 stars as I would say it’s 2 at the most. How any one can rate it excellent is beyond me as it’s not even a great location! Will definitely not stay here again or consider using a Marstons inn again.”

“We had a very comfortable room that catered for our needs for a long weekend away. Its a great base, lots of bars and restaurants close by, a few minutes walk to the beach and 10 minutes to the bus station if you fancy a short bus trip to other nearby beaches. The parking permit is a great help. We would happily stay here again.”

“We had no running hot water other than the electric shower. No wardrobe just hangers on hooks. TV was the size of an iPad. Bottom bed sheet too small and forever coming off. Needs to be clearer when it states breakfast included but it is only cereal. Outside seating area not suitable as soiled with seagulls droppings”

“Although dated and in need of modernisation, this place was clean with everything you need. Checking in and accessing the room key was quick and easy. The room was large, bathroom was clean, bedding was clean. Tv worked. plenty of hot water.”

“Friendly staff. Room was clean. It’s located in the city centre easy to walk around the shops and beaches. It’s on a hill, so one must walk down steps to the beach or take a tram. Food in town was not ideal: I tried a few based on reviews or recommendations, but was disappointed. Parking in town is a nightmare. The hotel provided on street parking £5/night, but it’s difficult to find a spot. There are some lovely shops around the corner, some antiques and soaps, where worth a visit.”
