“I stayed at this hotel for one night for our trip to the Blue Ridge Parkway. The room, the bathroom and in particular the bed were clean. We also enjoyed the complimentary breakfast. The server in the restaurant was very kind and was making sure that every guest was enjoying the meal. “Staff at Front Desk was not friendly nor helpful. The room smelled so bad of both cigarette and tobacco smoke, and the sheet of fabric softener in the air unit did nothing. Shower curtain ring was barely hanging on the wall.”

Had a few issues, no working fan in the bathroom (found out the hard way lol), and tub faucet had a fast leak that we reported, but no one came to fix. “We liked the fact that the hotel is historic but had modern conveniences. Also a prime factor was the walkability. Everything was literally right there.”

“This is an old-school inn in Staunton, which is a pretty town with lots of great restaurants. Both breakfast and dinner options were abundant. There was construction going on, involving the opening of a new building, but it did not impact my stay. This being Virginia, there was a smoking area on the end of the front porch, which felt quite genteel. Would stay again if the price is discounted.”

“Everything was new and clean and fresh, A/C and TV worked fine. Staff was perfectly nice and professional. BUT 1) bathroom is a TERRIBLE design and we’re not even big people. I Could only open the door to the shower if i backed up into the area next to the toilet or stepped out the door. And then exiting drips a big puddle of water.
