"Great hotel very impressed for the price, very well maintained and excellent amenities"

"Received an email a few days before our booking advising that the restaurant and bar were only open Monday to Saturday from 5pm to 8pm and only food was jacket potato with a variety of fillings. They did give details of 4 pubs/restaurants in the area. We decided to have a drink and give the jacket potatoes a go. There was no draught beer available just bottled beer. No soda water, was offered pellegrino instead. Jacket potato fillings were: curry sauce; cheese; baked beans; coleslaw; tuna; and something with chick peas. First choice of curry sauce turned out to be off the menu. Continental breakfast turned out to be fruit juice, tea/ coffee; a choice of 4 cereals and 1 1/2 slices of toast per person which arrived ready buttered and there was a choice of jam portions to go with it. All in all very disappointing, it felt like the place was being run down"

"Just love stopping here. The food is really first class and the staff are lovely. We stay here on the way or way back from our sons in Somerset. It has weddings on a weekend and the restaurant closes on a Monday so we do try to fit our travel plans in so we can stop here."

"The staff were great and very polite. We had a problem with our kettle in the room. It tripped the electric when switching on. However, they replaced it with a new one and we're very apologetic. We enjoyed our night there"

"Don’t often leave reviews but if you want a break from the Monday to Friday hotel life, this place is ideal. Was greeted as soon as I arrived and offered a choice of rooms. The room had a massive bed and a seating area, plenty of tea and coffee and was offered fresh milk which I accepted. Breakfast was made to order, had a beautifully presented fruit salad, followed by a great fry up made with quality ingredients. Even the WiFi was great "

"Unfortunately whilst this is advertised as a flat, it is actually only a room. I should have seen this when booking. The WC/shower room is small. This is my own personal experience of my stay. During my stay there were inconsiderate guests banging doors at all times and I had a guest in the room next to me who had their tv on all night. Not great when you are working, not getting in until 11pm and leaving at 6am. The landlady & landlord of the pub were very friendly & helpful, as myself and another guest both had problems opening the main door to access the guest rooms. The pub itself was great. Food was good as was the beer and all great value for money."
