Good value for money in Dublin

The reception and free space to relax is huge, the rooms are not. It served a purpose, the room was clean, tidy & compact, the bed is a small double. There is a decent kitchen along the corridor that’s big with sofas & chairs. There isn’t AC but some ventilation is afforded by the opening window.

Correct, quelques aspects tres gênants

Jai noté passable pour avis. Je suis habituée aux hotels et autres appartements de location. Ce logement est destiné aux étudiants, fonc forcément la qualité n'est pas celle dont jai l'habitude. Mais cest surtout la pression de l'eau quasiment inexistante sur les 1ers jours qui a été gênante. Et l'odeur nauséabonde qui sortait de l'écoulement de la douche. On entend tout ce qui se passe dans les chambres voisines. La fenêtre ne s'ouvre que tres peu, et en mode oscillant uniquement. Ce n'est qu'avec la nouvelle gérante en milieu de semaine que la pression de l'eau sest améliorée. Jai passé 7 nuits dans la résidence, que j'avais choisie car les autres hébergements étaient trop chers. Le concert d'Oasis le week-end a fait flamber les prix du week-end. Sinon c'était correct et suffisant, une fois habituée.

Appalling Service

I ordered a trip for my daughter and me, and on the very day of the trip I received a message saying that they could not honour our visit. That resulted in me having to secure a much more expensive hotel room. They also refused to refund the trip, which resulted in the trip being really expensive. They did not give a reason for why they could not honour our trip, I believe it was because my daughter is not yet 18. They do not say anything about this in the rules and restrictions as other hotels does, it says ambiguously somewhere else that the person checking in need to be 18, which I took to be me. Should anything be amiss with your booking, these are the least cooperative people you will meet, so I strongly recommend you find somewhere else to stay.

Honestly not worth it

Honestly wasn’t going to write a bad review if staff lived up to their statement to refund me properly but now I will as the standards of this place are absolutely beyond sub-par. The moment I stepped into the room there was a rancid smell coming from the bathroom. It appeared to be the shower drain, it was a raw sewage type of smell and it was flooding the room. I tried pouring boiling water down it and nothing worked. As I was staying for three nights I of course couldn’t avoid showering, but the water pressure was so low I nearly couldn’t rinse my hair! When I went to use the towel it was dirty!! See pictures. Also no sanitary bins in the toilets or bin in general in the room. I had emailed the staff straight away, also mentioning how hot the room was. They didn’t reply so had to physically go to reception and remind them to do something the next day. I got an email to apologise and stated that I would be refunded 2 of my 3 night stays. I was happy with that and willing to write it off as a bad experience and leave it there. However, I only received a refund of 36 euro!!! I replied with the receipt and did the calculations for them stating that this simply was not what they promised and not good enough…literally not even the price for one night! Did they think I wouldn’t notice? they have yet to reply! A joke after already having an unacceptable experience. Will not be coming back. BE WARNED

The room was nothing like the photo. Small cramped room. During our stay weather wasnt particularly warm but you would be forgiven for thinking that Beckett House is situated by the furnaces of Hell! The windows only open a little. Ask at reception for a fan but be warned, you may need to repair it yourself.

The staff was nice enough but it took 10 minutes to wind around and find our room. The sink and shower would not drain and nasty black stuff came out of the drains when we tried to fix it. The window only opened a crack and it was so awfully hot, we got zero sleep. The bed was not very comfortable and extremely small for two people. We left after the first night, though we were booked for two. They refused to refund our second night despite us leaving early.

Room did not have air conditioning and was very hot in the night time. Room was small but relatively clean, although the room didn’t have a garbage and the shower did not drain well at all. Decent stay for a budget friendly place. Staff was nice

Location is very close to town, which was great. The staff were very nice. Our only issue was how muggy and hot the room was without much ventilation. Otherwise it was fine and as expected for the price.

Das Hotelpersonal war sehr freundlich. Wobei man es weniger Hotel als Hostel mit eigenem Bad nennen sollte. Die Zimmer waren sehr klein, sodass man sich gerade einmal drehen konnte und das Bett für zwei Personen, war eine echt Herausforderung für zwei Personen. Dazu war es ein echtes Problem frische Luft in das Zimmer zu bekommen, da es mit nur einem Fenster kaum ging und auch im Bad war keine Lüftungsanlage, also hat sich der Wasserdampf im ganzen Zimmer verbreitet. Am letzten Tag ist uns dann auch Schimmel über dem Fenster aufgefallen, was nochmal einen Schatten auf den Aufenthalt geworfen hat. Nach einer Woche in der wir fast nicht geschlafen haben, das Schnarchen des Zimmernachbarn klar und deutlich vernehmen konnten, sind wir froh Zuhause zu sein.

Property is not well maintained and cleaned

Room and bathroom were not cleaned. Blocked sink and shower cubicle drain. Mattress was in poor condition. The springs were in poor condition. The centre of the mattress nearly completely flattened as soon as I lied on it. Door handles were loose.

Staff were helpful and professional. Easy check-in, easy check-out. The property is conveniently close to everything - transpo, resto, convenience store, downtown. Our room, washroom, the common kitchen and the hallways are clean. Our floor was quiet on the first night which we really liked. On our second night, people were loud at 1:00 AM and someone was sleeping in the kitchen at 4:00 AM. We honestly didn't get a good night sleep. The bed in our room was not comfortable to sleep on. We could feel the spring and bracket on our back when we lay down. It needs to be replaced.

The room was clean, but quite small. Sheets and towels were clean. The bathroom was small and the water pressure was very low. The shower also drained very slow. Overall, a good, slightly overpriced, stay.
