The General Palmer Hotel is a special historic hotel. Beautiful and comfortable in all areas. A few things that would make this hotel excellent would be in-room coffee, complimentary water bottles in room, and more or brighter lighting in the rooms. There was not a smart tv in the room but for us it was a minor issue. Beds were very comfortable and the decor matched the feel of the historic hotel.

My boyfriend and I loved our stay here. The room was cozy and cute. We loved our robes after our nice hot showers. The staff was extraordinary. We loved the coffee bar in the lobby as well as the fresh baked chocolate chip cookies. The location couldn't be beat. Everything we needed was within walking distance. The rooms were perfectly clean. We loved our palace sweet room which overlooked the Durango train station. Water pressure was great water was hot. Wi-Fi was strong. Breakfast in the morning was a pleasant surprise that we didn't expect but it was amazingly good! I love the quaint quiet mornings of the breakfast area. Definitely an experience to stay in such a historic location! The elevator was definitely fun! The lobby was absolutely beautiful! I love that everything is connected to downtown which made for fun leisure Saturdays to be able to walk from store to store and be able to head back to the hotel when we were tired. Definitely would love to stay again!
